    Mode - 2D or 3D
view - 3D, North up or Direction up.

The further you zoom out the less details you will see. If you zoom in you will see adjacent areas. Zoom levels are usually a driver's choice as where they would like the screen details to be.

I am not sure this really answered your question as it was a little vague.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Which is better to use when trucking with the TND 500, the fastest or the shortest route?

I know and I am sorry it has not been released yet. QA is still testing it.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Fastest - normally will keep you on freeways.

Shortest - US routes and back roads - shortest, but longer due to speed restrictions on these roads.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I thought you meant the 500, but needed to be sure.

What is the serial number on the back of the TND 500?

Have you tried to update it via the TND Dock to correct this?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Many thanks to those that responded to my questions. This is so nice because Delorme are invisible once they have your money.
    Last questions.
Does the TND700 leave a breadcrumb trail as per Delorme?
The main reason I want R&M is because of the tie up between the paper atlas and the electronic version. Please tell me I am not mistaken.
Are updates to the atlas information free (Garmin want up to $120).
Is support going to be available down the road for the TND 700?
I ask due to being abandoned by various software and hardware companies in the past after having bought their expensive products (Pagis, Musicmatch Jukebox, Rio etc), and this gadget is super expensive considering my whole laptop and GPS software were about the same price. Not a dig just being honest, pretty sure the 700 is what I need price notwithstanding.
    Many thanks for your time.
