Holland Enterprises .52CPM worth it?

    I wouldn't get too hung up on the numbers because a carrier could be paying you $1/mile but only run you 200 miles per day while another carrier could be paying 50 cents per mile but run you 500 a day.

    Not to mention you don't know how any of these places are really going to work you until you've been there after 3 months. Dispatchers, customers, economy etc etc all will affect your check.

    Also, the place that gets you the largest check might suck to work for while a place that pays less might make your life less stressful and enjoyable due to the work conditions.

    Just take the job and see how it goes. It's the only way you’ll truly know how good it is (or isn't).

    The most miserable drivers iv met worked for Walmart , FedEx, marathon. The money has them locked in a life banal suffering.

    The sad things about those jobs is not only are they hard to get but you have no job security unless you are in bed with the higher ups. A fuel hauler at a private company lost his safety bonus because he spit dip on the concrete at a gas station. Saia's slogan is "we hire to fire"

    Saw on another thread about Holland that they usually keep drivers out running loads 3 weeks minimum.

    Local in CA ohhhhh helllllll nah. 55mph all day long bzzzzzzzzt hahaha.

    no mom and pop or family owned produce haulers out there anymore?

    If you like long runs and the adventure, I vote Holland. Safe pick that’s been around a while, you’ll have fun working, and you’ll have great equipment per their FMCSA scores. And you’re picking a good time of year to start a coast to coast company, with the weather finally warming. I’ve never worked there, but just from what I’ve heard and seen.

    I think the pay is a bit low, but it’s not egregious if the miles you’ve heard are accurate. There’s something to be said for a stable place to hunker down for a while in the current market, especially if you enjoy the work.

    There are lots of reefer companies with long runs that’d pay you a decent bit more, but you also have to factor in more short runs and other catches they may come with.

    Thats my thinking as well, i went ahead and called them and went through with Holland. Ill be flying out Tuesday and in a truck by Thursday. Its hard to beat good equipment and long loads for OTR. Even though Marten offered 62cpm their average load length is 500 miles she said. Thatll be delivering and picking up almost once a day.

    Yeah but some folks like only bumping 2 docks a week instead of daily.
