Question about EZPass: is anyone else having difficulty getting timely reports from NY? It takes me upwards of six weeks before they post to my account. By the time it's posted, it is past the deadline for my company to reimburse me. I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this? I have even called NY Thruway and they acknowledged there is a problem. Has anyone gone through NY lately, and does the problem still exist?

That's how NY operates. It's also extremely challenging for the carrier when billing disputes arise. I've been round and round with NYS over their faulty readers and attempted robbery of my company.

Why are you using your own EZPass for your employer?

It can sometimes take a solid week or more for Ohio, PA, or NY to post their #### tolls to my Indiana-issued EZ pass, but 6 weeks? I’d be livid. I hate Illinois but I have to say they are Johnny on the spot about it. Should be instantaneous everywhere but I guess their IT systems aren’t quite there yet.

If it’s his truck they ain’t giving him one of their toll transponders. Company truck, sure.

Some company’s handle it better IMO…they give you a toll allowance for the load either up front or with your final settlement and how you get there is your choice.

Well, are you talking about the Thruway, or other things? My Thruway tolls post within a day...

They were down for several weeks. I have bestpass with ez and nothing updated for a month. When they came back online after a system change, it still took a couple of weeks for tolls to post. I look up the toll costs for the lanes I run so know how much to bump my account to keep it funded. Was flying blind for a while. Everything seems current now.

I've had transponders from places I've leased on. That's what escrow are for. If he's an OO he should have posted this in the OO section.

I don’t recall the “experienced truckers” forum being meant strictly for company drivers, but maybe I missed that.

So they would deduct the tolls from your settlement then? Seems messy IMO. Tolls are essentially a rider onto the fuel bill that will vary from truck to truck and person to person so I wouldn’t want them messing with my fuel or toll bills as far as deducting it off my settlement. I like the allowance method whee they add it to the settlement and you’re free to spend as little or as much of it as you like, but it’s your transponder and bill.

How long have you owned your truck? If you're paying tolls sounds like you're getting screwed but then again driving a pickup truck isn't very profitable anyway. Must be tough.

I came to the conclusion that tolls are against my financial beliefs and avoided the NY toll roads altogether
