Del Monte Foods files Chapter 11

Doesn’t sound as if they are closing the doors and in fact will be business as usual.

At least that’s my interpretation.

I haven’t hauled for Transplace since January, did two loads I did one and the other driver did one. They paid in 3 days. Yes they did like to call and check on you even though you had plenty of time til appointment.
I’ve always just dealt with one guy there, and he was there before 21 when it showed they got bought out.

 

Yeah, tell that to the great folks of Markesan, Wis. I hauled a LOT of canned goods out of Markesan, not a big city, small community of about 1500, but 90 jobs, more accurately, that's 90 FAMILIES that are screwed, probably the biggest employer in town. A town in Wash will close with 127 families in trouble, and at a bad time, where are these people going to find jobs? Walmart Markesan? Hardly, if an American institution like Del Monte files for bankruptcy, who's next? Ford?

Other than they closed Markesan over a year ago.
