More than you wanna stack. I talked to a guy yesterday in SD who would cut me a good deal on small squares on the field. I pick.

Not sure if I'm man enough to do that anymore, but I thought about it

 

That's not going to happen, definitely on the f' it list. Pretty bad hay year here, local feed store shut it's doors. Horse folks wanting to see if I'll go get hoity-toity special horse hay. Me? Hooking up to a flat? Straps n such? Gaaaaak! But might be some foldin' money there......

 

Top quality 200+ RFV alfalfa is pretty much 200$ a ton from the guys I know. You can get it cheaper at auction at times. I've got some bids in on some but they don't end till tomorrow.

I need to spend some time and rent a car and find some more contacts.

 

I buy from a guy in Bridger valley. I can get you his contact info if you want. Also a guy here in Evanston usually has some good alfalfa

Chatted with a shipper who had his buttons pushed. He asked me my thoughts on a conversation he had.

Driver: What are you doing for Christmas/NewYears/VeteransDay/IndependenceDay/Halloween? (Pick one)

Shipper: Gonna do the family thing and break bread/have a few beers/exchange presents/hunt Easter eggs/pop firecrackers…etc (Pick one)

Driver: I don’t do anything for that Day.

Shipper: Why not?

Driver (here comes the button push): That’s your people’s day. My people’s day is CincoDeMayo/ Chinese New Year/Wiccan Day/Gay Pride Month/Juneteenth/Hanukkah. I do not respect your holidays, yadda yadda yadda..

(The holiday was the 4th, and things got heated. The shipper is a person I normally chat with and he asked me my thoughts. He had tried to reason with the driver, a losing proposition. How would you respond?)

I guess some flatbed carrying cardboard bales must of been going to fast and dumped the bales all over the road.. atleast made it to my pickup appointment in time out here on the oregon coast
