Where is the money at in DFW

Look into Ryder, bunch of there accounts pay hourly 22-28 with OT. They were a very good company to work for, I’d go back but they led me to a very good job with private fleet when they lost contract. All depends on account with them, you have to do research on that, talk to drivers on account

LTL COMPANIES
Bridgestone
Walmart Transportation
Nalco and other private chem dist companies

Get hazmat ,tankers, doubles & triples added to your CDL. And apply for a twic card. Then you will be able to apply and work just about anywhere that pays decent.

 

Thanks for the info—really helpful list! I’ll definitely look into Foodliner, Texas TransEastern, and Dupre Logistics. Good point about needing tanker experience for some of them. I hadn't thought about checking out companies from Houston or Freeport with yards in DFW, but that’s a great idea. Appreciate the advice!

 

I believe that Dupre was bought up by KAG not long ago.

 

I believe the Federal Reserve has a location in Dallas, so THAT would be where the most money is locally...

How much money qualifies as good money? I’m driving regional dry van for J Rayl on salary. Home weekends, $1400 gross (I actually make a little more, but I’ve been here for 6 1/2 years).

Depends on where one lives. 70k per year means struggling in L.A. But that same money per year might mean ok living in Ennis, TX. Just depends on the cost of living in the area. To determine what equals good money.
