I bring a gallon insulated jug of cold water everywhere I go, plus I carry a small bottle of Redmonds Real Salt, and take a couple of hits off it everyday if I'm sweating or working in the heat. Just sprinkle some in my hand and lick it.

It sounds weird, but if you need the salt you will barely be able to taste it. If it tastes extremely salty you've had too much.

I stay away from Gatorade because of the sugar.

Old home remedies are pickle juice or mustard. I’ve tried both, but can’t say for sure if either one works 100%

I will add , i dont carry water bottles with me but gallon jugs instead. Usually 10 gallons at a time. Refill them when im at home and take them with. Sometimes i run out and use my loves points to buy more... Definatly add an elextrolyte mix to your water or just mix a gatorade in with your water drinking.. im not used to the humidty so i sweat even more than most . I got to be careful in places like texas where i will become dehydrated quite fast... Also if you like drinking milk, contrary to what people think, it is fantastic at hydration and also gives u some proteins as well. I usually pull over after a good tarp job and grab a quart of milk from the truckstop, if i dont have any left in my fridge.. i dont ever cramp up. If you are cramping , your muscles are screaming for hydration

Too right, drinking after cramping is like wearing a condom to an ultrasound appointment with the misses…too late

Pickle juice. I have frequent issues with my calves, thighs and feet, and I drink a ton of water every day and occasionally throw in some Gatorade. Half cup or so, more if I can stand it, LOL, and cramps go away pretty quickly, for me anyway.

I take a water pill along with my blood pressure medicine so I'm always fighting dehydration.

You can get a jar of just pickle juice, no pickles, at Walmart.

Gatorade, (we buy the big tubs of powder from Sam’s Club) or Body Armor. When I am super thirsty, plain water doesn’t cut it for me. It will give me a world class gut ache, but I will stay dry as a bone. I sweat like a horse any temp above 60*, Body Armor is my favorite. Get tired of paying for it though

The Gatorade powder is a good suggestion as I've used it as well. However you also need to find a way to up your potassium levels organically. So I'm talking eat a banana a day, or a tomato with some sea salt, make a guacamole tostada or just eat the sliced avocado. Check your diet, take a good multivitamin if you need to. Basically your body is telling you that you are nutrient deficient, folks tend to find that out when they push themselves like an athlete. Your body will tell on itself just like a truck running in the heat or severe cold.

Multivitamins and Boost meal shakes. Had my fingers cramp up really bad and I bought some Pamprin (hey, it worked) at a C store.
