I've been thinking about getting a Moore Maker, but after looking at their website I realized they're proud of 'em. Do you think they're worth the money?

That's what I've carried for years. Kind of like you the people I grew up around. That's what they all carried. And I just got used to the two blades. Sad to say mine is on the nightstand now, I started carrying a box cutter from Milwaukee, I just change out the blades and go.

To be honest, I've had three and all were gifts! But they are a good knife for the money. My dad always carried Hen and Rooster stag trappers, much better knives but much more expensive too!

They gave me a load this morning north of 33K, which is a lot for a single screw and 48’ liftgate. One look and I knew it wouldn’t scale the way it was but I could make it work with a few adjustments, contrary to the insistence of the driver loading out of the door next to mine.

Basically I had them pull off the first 4 stops, load the skid that was left right on the back out of order, swap stops 2 and 3, and leave the 4 chemical totes that were stop 1 closer to the door and strap them in.

This overloaded the trailer tandem by about 1500, but that was easy enough to fix by sliding the axles back.

By the time I rolled out I was looking at 10.8 on the steer, 19.5 on the drive, and 33.6 on the trailer.

Now here’s the part @wore out could probably relate to. After I got back I was explaining this to 2 knuckleheads who don’t believe in pre and post trip inspections, who in response insisted that “well we would’ve ran it outlaw because we can”.

Really? You wouldn’t even attempt to make it right first? o_O

I’m not opposed to doing that if I have to, but I’m not about to do it just because. There’s a funny thing about luck. Eventually it WILL run out. It might be sooner, it might be later, but at some point it will happen.

Ground hornets— if you’re ever riding a bomb proof horse across the Owyhee desert and that horse happens to disturb a nest of ground hornets and those ground hornets get mad and bite the bomb proof horse on his pecker, you quickly come to the conclusion that there are no bomb proof horses

I'm thinking that if you got stung on the pecker by them, you would all at once know how to break dance, acrobatics, and learn how to cuss in 3 new languages all at once.

Just great. I'd never even considered being stung on the pecker. Now if I come up on a ground nest I'll not only be running and screaming like a little girl, I'll also be holding my pecker. I just hope the neighbors aren't outside.
