FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

My load to Joliet got pulled from me on my way to pickup this morning. Changed out for a load from Mount Pleasant TN to HD Topeka.

I got to the shipper at 12:15p for a 3p loading appointment. I was gone before 1p. Can’t beat that. Well, it’s only a handful of pallets of ceramics that weigh 11k. So that may beat out getting ahead of scheduled time. But not by much.

Should be in Topeka by lunch tomorrow.

 

You’re better off. I hate going to HD Joliet. Not because of HD. They’re fine. It’s all those chucklehead can yankers that surround it. Nothing but duct tape Columbias as far as the eye can see.

 

Was heading to Victorville with plans of heading straight back to the Morhership for a Shop Visit Saturday morning… but…

They called asking if I could repower a load going to Foothill Ranch then Ontario … sure I’ll run it. But that put me out of range of getting for getting back on Saturday morning.

Got the require portion to Foothill Ranch today but no way to get to Ontario before they shut down so I’m schedule for tomorrow morning… and then they will load me while on their dock for a nice I40 run to Savannah… so delayed shop visit but I do like that long cross country run.

Was hoping to get to the Flying J midafternoon but an accident delayed me so long I had to park at the Petro. $30 parking or $50 in purchases… so it’s surf n turf night with cheesecake dessert.

Good excuse to buy a steak dinner… to bad it wasn’t a real steakhouse. Oh well.

On my way to Fremont in a rental car they are supposed to take possession of the truck tomorrow and take it to auction somewhere.

They sold out to AllMetal out of Wichita I believe. His ex got the trash side and it's Hometown Disposal and they haven't bought a new truck in forever. Know a person that drives for them and some of the front-loaders don't have a/c that works, a roll-off truck exploded an air tank the other day, another one uses 2 gallons of coolant per day and they won't fix it. Equipment is pretty rough and they say they don't have money to repair or replace.

 

I can barely get out to CA any more, and some of you dudes do that AND get those coast to coast runs. Dagnabbit. Hitting that dock at Foothill Ranch is fun isn't it? It looks worse than it is...first time I went there with my wife on board, she asked me 4 times if I was SURE I wanted to back in there with my tandems slid back.
