So I just got off the phone with them and it sounds like its a really good company. Fr all of you out there just an FYI they are the ones who run Prime trailers. The company is fairly small as in only a couple hundred trucks and they are all 2009 or newer petes. I am pretty excited about going to work for them especially after the pay scale and the rate per mile that wasdiscussed and what I will get. I know to get it all n writting before all said and done. Anyways the next pain in the ##### thing is to transfer my CDL to IL which is going to be a B***H and a half seeing as I need to re-do everything. I am taking a refresher course out here in CA that the Marine Corp offers to people getting out. So I will atleast have it all fresh in my mind forIL testing.

    Any input on wiltrans?

milskired - BE CARFUL!!!! I worked there a few years back. ** NOTICE** You Are NOT an Independant Contractor !!! You will just be paying All their bills & paying for THEIR TRUCK. Recruiting is GOOD! They will sing you a song, and Dance too!!! Everything will be great.... TILL YOU SIGN ON THE BOTTOM LINE. Then YOU belong to THEM!! I KNOW !! BEEN THERE DONE THAT! As long as you play THEIR game the way THEY want you to play it, tings will go ok. But the minute you get the notion of being an independent. Things start going South Real FAST. If all you want to do is be a Company Driver, paying for their truck, fine, but dont get any other ideas.

I see no point in leasing a truck when I can just save my money for my own truck and make twice the money with half the BS involved.

Yeah, Wil-Trans is a small fleet leased to Prime that pulls Prime trailers, dispatched through Prime. I've heard good and bad about them, so, just beware.

All of the Wil-Trans drivers I've ever talked to (as opposed to truckstop BS sessions) have been real happy with the place. Yup... they pull Prime trailers and are dispatched through Prime - but then again, most people are happy with Prime too.

I was happy with Prime. I got my CDL through them and everything. The only thing I did not like was the large company your a number feel. There is under 200 trucks at wiltrans. Plus they said they would start me at .36CPM where as Prime would be .34CPM. I would not mind driving a 2009 or newer Peterbuilt 287 or 389 with a 500 cummins and a 10 or a 13 speed with an APU on it would you? Yeah they are set to only do 65mph but thats a few faster then most compnaies out there. I know all of CR Englands trucks Lease and company are set at 62MPH!!! WTF is that about??? That came straight from a friend who is a lease operator for them.

WTF is 62 mph all about, you say? How about fuel consumption. Run a company with 10,000 power units and save .2 miles-per-gallon and I think that adds up to a substantial savings. Can you say "economic hard times"?
