I always like carrying an over sized flashlight; Like what the police use.

Highway 82 from Alamogordo to TX. There is one 16 mile grade there and it is a VERY winding stretch. It is the shortest way from Las cruces to Lubbock but NOT the quickest. TO avoid 82 it is only 40 miles further to stay on 70 to Clovis and go down 84. 70 and 84 are mostly 4 lanes. Let's not forget hwy. 50 across NV. I have never been on that stretch though. Also Interstate 70 from Utah to Green River. NO SERVICES FOR 105 MILES.

Highway 50, that brings me to my next idea....I own 25 acres of land on U.S. 50 near Ely, NV. I have been thinking of putting a small truck stop in that area. I would have to research it more as to how many trucks drive through there. I inherited the property from my grandpa, and have never been there, just seen pictures, and looked it up on google map. But if there is enough traffic flying thru there, you may see a truck stop in the next 5 years.

I know that...doesn't mean nothing. Times and populations have changed since the name was created. It would just be extra income, I was also thinking of sticking a house on that land and living there to. We'll see, I am going do more research. I am sure local truckers run that stretch of road.
