Back in December I got pulled over in the truck doing 84 in a 55 officer wrote the ticket for 80. I did'nt belive it so I hired a lawer. Today was the day of the trial. The judge found me guilty but he decided to only convict me of speeding. So its my understanding it will not show up on my MVR as a serious violation it will just say speeding. My question is when the insurance companies see this will it benifit me since it doesnt say how fast I was going? Also will they get suspicious and question me about it? Is it better or worse than say a speeding ticket that says say 60 in a 55?
Thanks
Went to court today

"Pigfeeder!!!" I hear ya...
I was pulled over once in NM for doing 85 in a 75, but since it was only "10 over" the ticket cost a lousy $54, cheapest ticket I ever received, although it DID put 1.5 points on my MVR...
That will be your greatest concern, I reckon, determining whether it shows on your MVR... sometimes there is a distinction between POVs (privately-owned vehicles) and commercial vehicles, 10? Although they might not say whether you were in an 18-wheeler or a small straight truck, ya copy?
That's your big mission, to see whether it shows on your MVR (H-6 Printout here in CA, for CMV and MVR records). Good luck to ya, hand... been there, done that, 10? P.S. When I was pulled over for doing 85 m.p.h., I was hauling a wagonload of Hazardous Waste... not every company driver can say that on level ground, yeah? I framed the "driving award" and showed it to this beautiful young woman ("the talent") workin' the front counter at the surf shop, after highlighting the "85 in a 75 m.p.h. zone" part and highlighting the lousy $54 fine. Naturally, she was duly impressed...Injun Thanks this. -
I havent had any points since....high school? I just switched my license over from South Dakota where there is no point system just the "Pay as you go system" my boss called it. I guess I should have waited untill after this was all over. I planned on going to the courthouse tomorrow and getting a print out to see it myself. Im assuming it shows up on it over night I guess Ill find out.

a CHP officer pinned a b.s. ticket on me almost 2 years ago near bishop, ca. i KNOW he saw the freaking honda civic blow right by me. he pulled me over anyway and said he got me doing 67 in a 55 zone. that was one of the only times i've ever called a cop a lying sack o' dog crap to his face. i was driving for swift at the time and we all know their trucks can't even go that speed! swift backed me up and the judge in mammoth county found me guilty anyway. it was all about money.
in the end, though, the b.s. ticket was never put on my MVR, nor any points issued.RAILSPLITTER Thanks this. -

Are you kiddin', "DARLIN'????????????????????????????????"
Gee, PUH-LEEZE don't get all torqued about my callin' ya "DARLIN'"---as I highly appreciate your posts.
They're darned sure (watching my lingo here) better than most of the horse patootie ya see on these sites... as of course you already know. I read "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee"---just one saga of the ugly transition.
I'm not big on "Casino Indians"---how much SCALPING goes on there, yeah? I'd be the first to wield the tomahawk just like our man in "The Last Of The Mohicans"---what a cool flick. Filmed down at Chimney Rock, NC, although the story took place in upstate NY. Seems like I'm catching flak here for simply trying to communicate... okay, I still respect ya, just goin' through some #########.Injun Thanks this. -
15 over counts as a serious violation on your CDL. Two serious violations ina 3 year period can get you disqualified for a period of time. -
1. There is no Mammoth County in California.
2. Out side of Bishop, CA, so you mean south of or north of, or northeast of?
3. Swift trucks are governed at "62" company trucks, and L/O trucks at "68"...even as a company driver, if assigned an ex-L/O truck reclaimed by company, and the truck not governed to company specs...67 is doable on the flats south of Bishop.
4. Since you claimed "Mammoth County", I will assume you meant "Mono" county, and the long, very steep grade (downhill) just north of Bishop,CA, is in Mono county, and is well known to be a ticket target for the big rigs.
5. No matter what truck you were in, going down the grade, the governer is designed to limit your "throttle speed" not your "attainable speed" going down a steep grade.
6. In the past, CA did not report speeding or other citations to any other states DMV.
7. Are you referring to a letter your DM sent to the court attesting to the "governing" of Swift trucks at 62mph. No wonder the ticket stayed and had to be paid, the judge in Mammoth Lakes, knows the terrain and the way trucks go down HIS mountain...as he lives at the base of the steep grade in Rovana. -
when i told them i wanted to appeal, they basically told me i'd be on my own.otherhalftw and RAILSPLITTER Thank this.
