i figured it would only be a matter of time before a merge were to take place. it was like satelite tv when it first came out.

as for prices, there may be a "slight" jump in cost, but it shouldn't be too much, i'd think. not even half the cost of a price jump. they have a whole lot of customers.

SIRIUS and XM to Combine in $13 Billion Merger of Equals

 

That would be good if it dosnt raise too much cause I plan on buying Sirius.

 

It may be a tough sell, gubment regulators say something to the effect that they were not suppose to be able to merge. And it will also create a monopoly, which could be an issue.

 

Monopoly? Please correct if I'm wrong but the only 2 company's are becoming 1. How does that become a monopoly when it won't affect any other company? Although the one stipulation I don't understand yet is how a bill was written stating One satellite radio can't buy another...... when there's only 2 right now.

 

Actually there was talk of another satellite radio company but I think that did fail as I have seen nothing of them.
