No Im 6'2 and about 180 pounds. I have always had a fast metabolism. I just smoked alot, ate too many big macs and drank too much pepsi with never drinking water.

I dont think I will ever get fat. My plan for trucking is a cooler or fridge with salads, sandwhich meat like turkey and fruit. I only do the fast food thing like once a month now. It used to be twice a day. 20+ years of that crap will do it for ya. I suppose if not for my crazy metabolism then yeah I would probably be fat. I have always been underweight actually.

Can't speak to the convictions stuff don't have any knowledge about that.

You're fine on the heart deal though. I had bypass surgery in 08 and made it in no problem after the doc filled out the paperwork Swift supplied. Ask the recruiter for this paperwork ahead of time to save you head ache and wasted time/travel etc. I made two trips to school because of not knowing/having this paperwork.

If you can wait, Swift will train you for the fees and your wife for free if you both go through at the same time. You both will have to go on separate Mentor trucks for the 240 hours but will team up after that no problem.

Good luck to you and keep us posted.

Ah thanks for that good advice. I will ask the recruiter to do just that. I have just finished reading your last few posts in other threads. Im glad to know you had a decent time and are now on your own solo. I hope your career works out well for you. I am a worker and my only concern is if they will give me the miles. I dont care about getting home. I care about working and seeing my country.

As far as waiting for my wife. I think Im gonna go ahead without her. Im anxious to get started. Also that way, I think I read that by the time she is ready next year that I could mentor her myself yes?

    Wyldfyur and Schmidtrock Thank this.

Yes you could do that. Their policy now (smart or not heh) is after six months solo you can apply for the mentor program. There is a bit of training you have to go through for that but it seems like a good deal and Swift needs all the GOOD mentors they can get and not just log runners.

    Wyldfyur Thanks this.

Just a coment here. I believe wives need to wait 90 days to go for free. I know husbands can mentor wives, Swift gives them a temporary mentorship do to it. You dont have to become a full mentor. My husband is going to mentor me, but I am required to wait 90 days to go free through the training.

Evidently the spouse schooling has changed because there was no waiting period for me to go to school. In fact they were schooling spouses in the same class at that time. I'd suggest you ask the recruiter.

Well thank you all for the info that you have given me thus far. I called and talked to a recuiter today and unfortunately they are not offering classes to people from NY at this time. So looks like I wont be going with Swift. I called central refrigerator and they have classes for me. I sent my app in with them. Wish me luck.

Well good luck to ya! I've heard good things about Central Refridge myself. Had actually looked into them but they weren't offering in my area.
