Can you guys tell me what Landstar looks for? Their BCO page at the website is not very helpfull or overly full of hard data.

I have been off the road for nearly 6 years, and with the economy in the proverbial toilet, I dont know if Landstar would lease me right off the bat.

I was thinking about flat, but the closest thing I have done to the is auto hauling. I need some advice here, the last time I logged it was on the old HOS! :biggrin_25521:
    Thanks on advance!
    Off to get sushi!:biggrin_25525:

    OK things have changed.

The only way I can get back out is O/O. But I do not want to have to deal with all the friggin headaches for more than Landstar requires. THe last thing I saw was 6 months as recent XP.

Now based on that, were I to buy a truck, run full O/O for that 6mo and then lease on, How much Excedrin would I save. Or should I just stay O/O?

I will be purchasing a truck in early Jan to mid Jan. I cant put it off any longer.

Someone help me to set up a business plan PLEASE!!!

If this fails I am on the street, and in the rescue missions. I would rather add 230 grains of lead to my diet than that.

I am scared for my future.

First off I'm going to tell you, I've already begun praying for you.

Secondly, I'm going to tell you to talk to BW and Redd. PM them, I'm sure they won't mind. They're both o/o. Injun is a L/O with Swift and I'm sure she'd be willing to help as well.

DUDE! Slow down! If your going to buy a truck with out a place to lease it on you have one option, your own gig. Are you ready for that? Do you have the cash to make this work? Many folks here will help you, myself included, get started in your trying become an O/O. I'm gonna do it or become homeless isn't the way to get started.

I read that "So you wanna be" post, and got lost somewhere in the 8th paragraph subsection A part 345..

    As a checklist

    1. LLC file
    2. Get Truck/Trailer and base plates (Initialy out of FL)
    3. Insurance Truck/Trailer/Bob/Load
    4. MCC
    5. IFTA/Permits
    6. Get loaded
    7. Run like my ### is on fire.

    Basically what did I miss?
HD I guess the 230gr of lead went over your head.

Well the banks canned my O/O idea. No recent experience... Come back with two years and we can work with you. Kinda expected it, but it is still depressing...

Especially when I discover that Werner is the only company that will hire me after I complete a refresher course...
