I'm very close in finishing my training and was wondering how long it took to get a truck assigned to you after you did you testing.
I'm thinking I may get back on Sunday or Monday.

If there are no trucks do they send me home or do they get me a room at the travel lodge???
If they send me home do they pay to get me back and forth???

    Thanks,
    Winger

I got my truck last Tuesday. I came in off training the previous Tuesday, did road test that Wednesday and took home time through the weekend. So, I guess two days for me as I'm not counting the time I was home.

When i came off my mentors truck, i had to do a couple classes, then was sent home (6 hrs away) for a week. I was told from the student DM that "i'll call ya when there is a truck". After a week, not a peep. So i started calling and emailing asking 'when am i getting a truck?'. Finally i said i was headed down and will be there the next thursday, and that i needed to run local in a daycab or something. I had not had a paycheck in 2 weeks, and needed something. Just so happens that morning i get the phone call that a truck was ready.

Thinkin' that had my butt went back to Edwardsville after my week, i'd have got the very next truck. Think because i wasnt there, they were passing me up. Said when i left for my week off, i was #2 on the list. Then when i started calling and emailing, i was #1. Cant tell me that only 1 driver was issued a truck in 14 days.

so my word of advice....after your time off....go back to your home terminal, and sit there, and ask every 2 hrs for an update. You'll have a truck in a day or two.
