Klonopin is a benzo so it will show up in a DOT drug screen. Like was stated above
you will have to list the meds you are taking and most companies will most likely
not hire you while taking this medication.

It is a bezodiazapine...in the valium familly....from what i understand all in that family are banned becasue they are central nervous system depressants....even Lomotil, an anti-diarrheal is banned becasue it is a close relative of the pain med Demerol....ive been checking into this, since I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome...guess I'll have to keep a port-a-potty with me....lol

Yeah please keep the responses coming because I am on a low amount of klonipin for anxiety but it does not make me drowsy or tired at all. The doc perscribes it as 'take up to two 0.5 mg a day as needed'. Many days I take less than prescribed. Is there a way the doctor can word a prescription like this to make it more 'acceptable' to companies?
Btw are drug tests sprung on you or do you know they're coming -or- is the problem that if there was an incident while driving and you weren't up front about the medication... -
even if you tested positive for it, providing you have a valid prescription, you wouldn't have a failed drug test
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -

yea but im finding now that a lot of companies dont require you to list your past med history or the meds your currently on. but a lot of them do ask for you to list them on your application.

One may drive a CMV while taking Klonipin, but it is dependent on two things. First that the prescribing physician sign a statement that he has observed the person and the effects of the medication, and in his opinion he/she is safe to drive/operate a CMV while taking it. Second that the company MRO signs off on it. Many, if not most will not do so.

Is there anyone who has tested positive, while on prescribed medications, still working ???
The world eagerly awaits your post.
