BS story again. Your tires are either LEGAL or NOT LEGAL
LOL this stuff cracks me up!
Can you imagine someone saying your fired because your tires are 'worn'.?
Get a lawyer! My gosh, its people like this is why you can't make it in the trucking industry.
Did they not tell you there is a legal tread depth for drives and steers?

In the end, as far as dealing with the mechanics, you need to have some balls, put your foot down, talk to the safety manager, and tell your DM over the qualcom that the truck will not leave the terminal until the tire issue had been resolved.
All it takes to make it with this company is having a pair, and not be afraid to speak your mind. Become a whistle blower if it comes down to it. You are the captain of your ship, so learn to man up!MaximumTexas and statikuz Thank this. -
I probably would of let mechanics and warehouse workers step all over me in my 20's just to keep my job, but I'm in my 40's now and I don't care about them or their "feelings". I care about me and my safety.
It's a different ball game and if I got to pisss off a few mechanics, warehouse people, etc., hurt their feelings and step on some toes to make it in this business and to sure my rig is safe...tough shiit, this ain't cheerleader camp, this is trucking.
I'm growing a BIG pair......and you should too, especially if you're a newbie. -

Knighton is so clueless he has to be an office worker! -
" don't mind getting your truck tires worn " thats priceless , seeing as your TIRES wear for evey mile you put on them regardless of the company your on with how is it KNIGHTS fault.
-
YOU: "I've noticed that the tread depth on my tires is reaching the legal limit. This is not only a safety issue for me, but I don't want to risk having the tire blow out and killing a family. Why can't you guys just change the frick'n balding tires? I don't care if they're used, just change the bad ones."
Knight Mechanic: Looks at the tires, and then looks at the driver and sneered "Your bald tires are OK with the DOT...."
The driver angrily storms out of the shop, but failed to hear the remainder.
Knight Mechanic: "....but it's just that we could give a rat's behind about changing out your tires, you, or your licence SUCKER! You BETTER walk away!"
At the end of the day, another truck was allowed to leave the shop with sub-par safety standards all in the name of saving some George Washingtons, and is the result of a driver too scared to speak up.
THE END.

This is proof that Knighton doesn't drive for Knight. -
Your proof is unreliable just like your worn tires.
Your more entertaining then a midget with a yoyo.
