Woman Newbie Here With Questions

I'm sitting in the T A in Dallas,and its a pretty good truckstop,clean restrooms and all that. A lot of the stops aren't like this though,and you meet a lot of truckers with an attitude,or those that dont make eye contact. Safety issues for woman I would think,aren't really a problem for the most part,allthough common respect seems to be in short supply in some places. I've found that a 5 gal bucket with a lid makes an ok toilet,use peat moss to absorb ,and lime will kill odor {keep the lid on]

 

in all the time I have been driving I have never been in a situation where i felt I was in danger, just use common sense. Unless you are one of those women drivers who go around and act like lot lizards and make themselves targets, and look for attention (and I don't think you are), you shouldn't have any problems

as for the porta potty, I know of other drivers who have them and they might be a good idea, I have a bucket in case I am parked somewhere and can't use a bathroom, just like the guys use their pee bottles, I use my bucket

the best way to truly eat heathy on the road is to get a cooler or fridge and bring your own food, if you can install an inverter you can bring a microwave, or you can buy one of those little ovens that the truckstops sel that plug into your lighter. I don't very often eat in truckstops, and I very rarely park in truckstops,

I don't really know about the laptop question, I don't have one, I have to get my directions the old fashioned way, call the customer and use a map
