Hey Swift drivers, don't be lazy and inconsiderate....

ESPECIALLY at the yard. If there is one gripe of mine, its drivers (of any carrier) being lazy and inconsiderate. Park where you want, block a fuel island for 15 min. while you go in and refinance your house, mail a payment off to the Pope and send return letters back to the kids who mail letters to The North Pole.

The other day, in our Gary yard...it was a weekend...and yes, it was pretty congested. I happen to find a spot for me and my loaded trailer, an actual parking spot the next isle over from the red tag trailers. I go to bed...to wake up at 2-3a to get rollin' for a 5a delivery in chicago. what do i find?? Some jerk-0ff decides to drop his trailer right in front of me. I can't back up, because in front of the red tagged trailers, there are two trailers double parked....so i cant cut the trailer enough to even back out. I message memphis, and they tell me the truck # that dropped it. They send a msg to the truck as well....but i find the truck....pound on the sleeper, and tell the latino driver (who just happens to be a lease/operator) he dropped his trailer in front of me, and blocked me in. He gets up, heads over within 5 min. and backs under the trailer.

THEN he has the nerve to tell me, in his broken english, "oh it wasnt me who dropped this here. My trailer, i dropped over dare". I message memphis to say he hooked to it, and was going to move it, but was giving me crap about it not being his. they confirmed it was his.

so...just use your head please. read the signs...where it says 'no parking' it means 'no parking'. if you park there, you're probably going to block something in, or eliminate space needed for another driver to make a safe turn. Just ask yourself a simple question.....If i was another driver, are my actions going to prevent another driver from doing his job? How would i feel if i were the other driver.

Just curious how this L/O expected me to get out dropping a trailer right in front of me.
