Lets say if I got hired with Werner. As a rookie, could I choose between 48 state and regional? Also, I have had my CDL for 7 months but I don't have any driving experience. Will Werner hire somebody that has had a CDL for 7 months with no driving experience? :biggrin_25510:

ummm probably not, almost all if not all of the big companies are going to make you at LEAST do a refresher course if not go as far as making you go through school all over again. I just had to go through all over again myself but it was worth it because now I'm with Watkins Shepard.

From what I understand, new solo drivers will get regional or dedicated. 48 state OTR is reserved for team drivers.

I got pre-hired a week ago. Set up my orientation today. I was asked what I would like to do after the training completed. 1 option was to do eastern half of the U.S. east of Kansas City, 48 state solo or 48 state team. I chose the east half, and they said out 3-4 weeks at a time. 48 state solo was 10-14 days out. Team I'm not sure. But those were the options I was given to start. Probably will change. Recruiter said I live in a good spot in the country to get something else fairly soon. But that was a recruiter, so take the words for what they may be worth.

Would prefer regional or dedicated, but since im a recent graduate of a driving school I will do what is asked to start.

you get 1 day for every week out.. if you call placement and ask if they have a dedicated close to where you live, you should be able to get on..
