I was leased to Watkins-Shepard of Missoula, flatbed division.Just like anywhere, I had complaints. However, using diplomacy and negotiation skills taught to me by my wife I learned how to make my problem their problem. For example, picked up load in Spokane, 2 drops in Rockford Il, 1 sheet of 2 in. 6x10 aluminum left for Indiana. I told dispatch 3 times I would be in Rockford Monday at noon and could take a full load on to Baltimore but they never did anything about it. I called the OO supervisor and said, ' I told them for three days I'd be in Rockford and they did nothing. Now it has cost you and I both money because I have to deadhead to Chicago after unloading (made it sound like I was in S FL) and pickup this load." Boy did he get mad. After that I got my way every time by calling him and saying it was costing him money, rather than fight with a dispatcher who could make life really miserable. They paid ontime, got me home every 3 weeks for 1 week and would pay more for a cheap load of moulding from OR to MD just to get me to take it and then make it up with a great load back. Use your heads, there Aint no easy run. Take the bad and dont gripe and youll get more good than bad cuz they know you wont gripe. :biggrin_25518: No complaints, they wanted to make money and so did I. Totally honest, never once lied to me. Had to quit due to a ruptured disc but would go back. Keep your stick on the ice. Passin Thru

My wife and I have been researching our tails off as we prepare to run team xl. We have decided WS is the one after talking to a number of their drivers (teams) and looking at lots of forum posts. These guys appear to be a straight up good company. I will keep you updated on our experience

I go to Conover tomorrow for Monday Orientation...WS really seems to be a rare company with more good said about it than bad...I'm excited...

That was my plan, no matter what they ask, "yes sir, I can do it", whether I like it or not...It's not like they have 10,000 drivers and I don't want to be thought of as the guy that biatches and moans...Sorry to hear about your back but thanx for the info!!!

    Hi NoCoCraig
I had read on another post You guy's had we're driving with another company. My Wife and I are in school now and have been in contact with Roxy for months, W/S is high on our list which is very, very short. So I was wondering if you did start with W/S and if so how things were going and if you changed your mind what were the drawbacks. Either way Good luck.

    Thanks
