They are still in business because of all of the newbies they can get to sign the lease. Newbies in ANY profession have no idea of how life with that job will be. In this time of high unemployment loads of folks are grasping at straws to keep a roof over their families heads.
The promises are true...if you really are a truck driver. Someone who knows the checks get back to Momma but you rarely do.
Too many folks who have been complaining about C.R.England have fantasies of actually getting to watch their kids grow up and still keep making the good bucks. When this falls around their feet they blame the company. The company suddenly just hasta live by the driver/leaser's schedule. The "I wanna go home" syndrome costs them their truck, tuition and much more.
They can't blame themselves so the company is an easy target.
I don't work for C R E or any company that has a lease plan. I am, however looking hard at C R E because in this reefer business I have met a bunch of happy lease operators (team and trainers) who are doing well with them.
Been dragging reefers around for about 22 years. Tired of chicken hauling and wanna go slow for awhile.
Big red Mormon trucks are as good as any since 62 MPH companies are all about the same.
I'll let you know if I do make the switch.
