    ....5 star general....

    ....5 Star General....

Hi there U4EA...you are my 5 star general...

You have stuck by me like no other...
As General...I don't expect you to agree with me on everything...

But what you have done is help create a climate of fairness and understanding...even while under fire...

Your kind of like the Constitution...your not nessicarily saying that everything I express is 'right' or 'balanced'...but you do acknowledge my right, and or others right,to express real life experiences...free of judgement and ridicule...

Some have come on here, and only pretended to be my 'friend'...until the heat got to hot...or they gave into 'peer pressure' and or their own biases..(and all the other signs and symptoms frailty)....

But you, you have stood by me, and my theatrical antics, and even colorful photos, and haven't so much as wavered or budged, when it comes to our relationship....

(I've even subconsciously tried to push you away a few times...expecting you to drop out of sight, like everyone else...but you haven't...)

Ye sure, it's just an online message board thing...but it still matters...and reveals much about character fortitude...(not in being perfect, but accepting imperfection within self, which allows one to accept them in others)

    Are you a priest?...no...are you a saint?...no...
But what you are to me, and I suspect to certain others...is 'reason'....

Now...just because I've appointed you General...doesn't mean we can't fight or argue in the future about whatever...followed by a pillow fight...[IMG]...and then some apple pie....

Nor does it mean that every now and then you won't read what I write and think 'Huh?? has he lost his mind?'....
It's ok to feel that too...

And as my General, I will always feel I can lean upon you for comfort, in times of emotional stress...and you can do the same with me...

And this is how it will remain...until either controlled or uncontrolled circumstances interfere....

Oh, and as my General...your never to big for a hug...come here you....

    U4EA Thanks this.

    Hahahaha!!!

I don't scare away easy, thats for sure. I suspected people were talking ##### from some of your posts, but wasn't totally sure if it was forum, or work related. In any case, don't sweat it; this is one of the BEST threads on here, honesty, depth, and some of the post are really good writings....well beyond the typical "forum" posts.

Your right, I dont have to agree with your every thought and opinion, but at this point I consider us on the same page - I haven't disagreed once.

***THIS IS WHERE I MAY GET FLAMED***

One of the reasons I like your writings and posts is because of your lateral thinking - i.e. thinking outside the box, analytical of your situation and surroundings.......

What people don't realize for obvious reasons is - creativity and intelligence isnt common in this industry - Relax everyone, I don't mean "all truckers are stupid" - I just mean its much harder for us then say, white collar workers in a medical laboratory, to discuss certain principles and ideas that may be considered "out there" to some people, amongst our co-worker/drivers. Some poor drivers have such little contact with anyone I think their scientific and analytical skill turn into liquid, drain out of their ears, and they live on instinct alone.

I mean, this isn't a profound discovery...look at other professional message boards/forums, you'll never see a sentence written like some of the sentences posted on here....and you think I'm surprised if I post something on Chaos Theory and I get sarcastic, amused remarks? Absolutely not; the "quality" of some (not all, some) of the people reading these posts are shocking, they're lucky they can even write their own name and drive a manual transmission....

    Anyway don't sweat dumb ### people.....haters.....

Oh I love ya I love ya I love ya...wow...I think I'm star struck...

'Lateral thinking'...gosh what a sexy term....
(relax people, this is how intellectuals 'get off')

Now, about 'creativity and intelligence'....sadly, your kind of right about that...and it starts from the top...the top of these trucking companies...from the terminal managers on down to the load planners to the dispatchers on down to us drivers...

There is very little room for intelligence and or creativity for drivers in this trade...other than like show trucks...that's the one area drivers can go all out...when they deck out their trucks...

    beauty man beauty...but that aside...

On many occasions I've tried to suggest better ways to run some companies I've worked for...or suggest this or that...and the look and or response I've almost always gotten was...

'Hey, stay in your place boy...you drive the truck, I, we, do the thinking'...

I even had one terminal manager openly tell me on the phone, that as a driver, I wasn't 'qualified' to discuss issues concerning human nature...

So I told him a bit of my background...and he was 'shocked'...as if I had just hopped into a truck straight out of high school and never done or had aspirations to do anything else...

Point being...many in this industry are conditioned to look at drivers as just mindless manual labour...and nothing more...

I mean just look at all the rules their implamenting...the electronic logs (ankle bracelets), the gps tracking, they tell you when to fuel, what route to take, when you can go home, when you have to report back to work...

It's like the driver has no say so in anything anymore...at least company drivers with large carriers...

You have 19 year old dispatchers threatning to 'punish' 45 and 61 year old drivers...if they 'don't obey'...
An enviornment where a 23 year old dispatcher, through their discression, can ruin or cripple a 20 veteran drivers ability to get another job, by giving them a bad dac report...

So ye, creativity and intelligence really isn't encouraged out here...what's encouraged is 'compliance' and 'safety'...

But all that aside...I just want to give ya another hug...cause you got me feeling happy right now...

Or how about a high five instead...

    That's right...we bad we bad...

(Sorry, all I could find was two women)

Like Thelma and Louies we're bringing it to ya....

Disclaimer: relax ya'll...U4EA knows I'm just playing around...he's cool like that...

Dump truck rolls over off interstate, photo less than 1 hour old...

Again...a reminder to you drivers...slow down and pay attention...

It's accidents like this that make DOT and all other associated agencies want to clamp down on us by implementing tougher HOS rules...

Cause no matter what the cause of the accident...they'll blame it on fatigue....

Many of you all speed, and curse me on the cb when I tell you to slow down...or when you get stuck behind me on a two lane highway...you like have a fit, and want to ring my bell...as I lecture you on good safety techniques over the cb radio....

Don't get mad at me...don't get mad...rather be glad that I lecture you on the cb so that you can make it home safe...

I go through great means to bring you these live action shots...

Anyways...I'm wore out now...this accident took up a lot of city and county and state resorces...

And for you amatuers...driving a truck is no joke...it's not like driving your ford mustang...

    There's a big difference between your hot rod ford mustang...and a semi-truck....

    Learn to slow down....

This has been a public safety message from the Ghostchild...

    and or this...

    2.

I mean I'm just wondering...cause there was no excuse, in this modern age of man, that which I had to encounter today...ok...no excuse...

Some guy turned around to speak to me today in a shop, and I about passed out when I saw his mouth and teeth...:biggrin_25521:

Nice fella and all...but did he have to open his mouth...he was ok until he opened his mouth...and good hvns...

I mean and many of these men are married...how do their wives put up?

I know if I were their wives...no way in cheesecake...would I allow anyone with rotted out teeth, practically dangling teeth, to get no where near me...or our furniture...and definatly not the bed...no way man...

But then again...if I were married to these guys...it would never of gotten that far...a loving wife should never allow her husbands teeth to rot out like that...

Use doggon baking soda if you have to...

Just put it in your mouth and chew...until your teeth are clean...I mean that's what they did in the olden days to solve all kinds of issues...it was baking soda and Rum....
Not together...but I mean for different ailments...

Anyways...again a public message from me, to you...cause I care...

And cause I'm tired of some of ya'll getting all up in my face with rotted teeth due to neglect...it doesn't have to be that way...tighten up please...

Ok, my last little gripe or observation for the night...

Some of ya fly down the road in your trucks like the devil on fire...

But once inside of the truck stop...you move around like there's lead in your belly....

To someone like me...(and probablly U4EA) it's like your moving in slow motion.(as well as thinking in slow motion, cause the bodies pace reflects the minds pace...get the lead out)..and the cashiers too....it drives me crazy...

Like you don't have no where to be or go...and it shows lack of motivation and hunger towards life...well maybe not life...but of dreams...and accomplishing bigger and better things....

There's no sense of urgency...everyone just slumbers around like giant jelly fish...and it so annoys me at times...

For how you evaluate self, is how you will evaluate others around you...in other words, if you've stopped going places in your life, than you tend to evaluate others around you the same...

And that would explain alot of a certain attitude you encounter out here on the road...

People don't see potential in you, cause they've stopped seeing it in themselves years ago...

    And I find that sad....

I always move and think at hyper speed wherever I go and with whatever I do..

.cause I always feel like I'm so far behind as it is...and that time is running out...so why waste it holding up the check out counter with 6 people standing behind you, themselves all slumped over...

And same with these slow moving slumbering cashiers...I mean who do they think they are? Taking their own sweet time like their at home watching a soap opera...

I wish I could get some of these cashiers to go to a Military boot camp...old school bootcamp...like from 1990 and back...

I think of our soldiers over seas and elsewhere...and then I think about some of the slumbering slow poke moving and thinking souls over here that these guys and gals are supposidly fighting for...and sometimes I wonder if it's worth it for them...they should just fight for themselves...

Their dying over there, getting shot at...and you can't even get a cashier to pick up the pace a bit without them rolling their eyes are getting smart...
at that exact time and moment, I wish I could teleport that casheir, or any other lazy person, right over there, front lines, in the Afgan desert...and see how long they would be lazy there, if their life depended on it...

Maybe then they'd learn a sense of urgency...

Anyways, I'm tired, wore out, been up since 6am...but still have enough in me to write...and won't get much sleep tonight either...

It just bugs me that I have to waste so much of this energy and rabbit like zeal in such a none responsive medium...oh well...you just never know...someday there may be a pay off...and maybe this is just my way of leaving a trail...time will tell...

    Later...and good night...I think...

Say what you want about me...but I'm no sloth...

And that's what makes me sad at times...I give so much...150%....and all for not...

I don't feel a pay check is a equal give back for what I give...the time and energy...which is limited...

We all have a limited amount of, not just days, but healthy days...days in which to do whatever...

Days to be 'attractive'...days to 'attract someone'...days of health...of vision, of hearing...

So one day, when your health is gone...and your in a wheelchair...no longer able to walk...

While sitting there...will you feel you did all you could when you could walk? when you could hear, see, smell...laugh...

Or will you sit in that wheelchair full of regret and remorse for all you didn't do, or didn't even try to do....

Each person will answer that question differently...

And some will burry their disappointment under a blanket of 'religon'...with such phrases as...

'If god had wanted you to have been...'
    'It just wasn't gods will'
'Trust in god that you are where you should be' ect ect ect...

    No no and no....

I believe in God...but I don't think he denies you from opportunity...he doesn't cheer when you fail...

A few pages back my cybor friend and general U4EA brought up an interesting concept about butter fly effect...cause and effect...

Something I've been meaning to dwelve in deeply...but do to scheduale...just haven't had the time...

The mind needs energy to function properly...and or beer...:biggrin_25524:(just kidding)...but a topic as deep as that I want to make sure I have time and mental energy to dwelve into it...

Any ways...long hard day...I'm wore out...all my time given to my spouse, my marriage partner...which is trucking...and they have really used me good today...

And all the things I wanted to share...I just can't now...do to lack of time and energy...

So I leave you with...when the day comes, when your confined to that wheel chair...no that you did all you could...while you were able to walk and stand....take that stand now....

I agree - and that's what stresses me out. Everyone has a finite number of days, healthy days as Ghostchild said, days when we are able to accomplish goals, enjoy our hobbies, strive to reach that point in life we have all been working hard for.....

This "healthy period" varies from person to person - some have longer, healthier and productive lives; others lives are marked by injury or illness.

    Time the Avenger...........

I really wish I was more productive with my time; one day your young and you have all the time in the world to kill and before you know it 10 years have past....for every action creates a reaction. Every choice, decision and procrastination changes your path in life, some to a greater extent then others, but they will effect you, either positively or adversely.

I don't want to be the guy in the wheel chair with a life time of regret; but it's up to me - I'm the captain of my own ship and have the power to navigate towards what I want in life.

    Regret is an awful burden......

Hi there...loved what you just wrote...

But I have a question more your speed, more worthy of your mind and accomplishments...

You have a nuclear mind...like Dr Manhattan from 'The Watchman'...

So the question I'd like to ask you...is what is the relation between time and motion?

Can one exist without the other?

From sub atomic particles to super novas...can time exist without motion and can motion exist without time??

Can anything be created, without motion?? or destroyed...without motion??

A question served up just for you...
I'll check in later for your response...

    Goodnight my friend...
