The shop is telling you the truth. Detroit is the best boat anchor ever made.

I drive an '06 Century with D60 and Auto Shift and while it doesn't do many of the things you describe it is an absolute slug on hills and getting up to speed with 15K or more in the box.

That said I was DANG GLAD to have 42K when I crossed the Mississippi River a few days ago.... the wind was BLOWING!

That's a crock and you know it. If they were all POS they would not lead the industry in sales every year no matter how cheap they were. They are not 6nz cats for sure , but this guy has something wrong or is lying his ### off. Go find a good shop with real mechanics -not parts changers and get it running right.

They lead the industry for one reason~They are put into POS freightliners, sold to fleets who care about nothing but cost.

Specs are important when buying any truck. I don't see anyone posting nothing but name of engine & trans speed. Which is very important especially with a detroit motor.

I would say EGR valve is hanging open when it should not be. Take it somewhere besides your companies mechanics. As for the speed going over your limiter who knows what that is. I drove an 04 DD60 with a 10 speed for about a year and it was not bad, none of these probelms like you have. Yes it could not pull a hill to save its life but it was not bad on the flats. Heck I have a 475 CAT in the truck I drive now limited to 62 and it does not do much beter pulling the hills. The limiters kill you when you hit hills.
