Personally I will adapt to whatever they come out with. Mandatory break during the driving day? Sounds like a good time for lunch or a shower to me.

48 hour reset probably means I run more on rollover minutes.

I rarely drive more than 10 hours a day now. Half the times I do its followed by 9 or less.

I don't see any change affecting me all that much. Just need to learn some new rules and plan around them.

If they think i'am going to take 2 hours out of my day for a mandatory rest break they can kiss my butt, i am home most every day so now a 2 hour rest break means i lose 2 hours of home time with my family i think not. Where do these morons come up with this stuff and i guess the data that the trucking industry is the safest in 7 years means nothing, just go's to show it's nothing about safety but all about speacial interest groups that have an issue with trucking. I surely hope some day we can all come together and stop this bs but the big companys and unions are all for more regs to make a more even playing field.

A friend at Maverick said they are planning for(if) the new hours by planning to keep their drivers to a 500 mile radius of their homes and will be 'load slipping' meaning handing off loads from driver to driver to keep everyone close to their terminals...So a 1000 mile run will be handled by 2 drivers...

i read in heavy duty trucking magazine......all the mega carriers have formed an "alliance" and are going to lobby (bribe) in favor of eobr's in all trucks (to squeeze out the smaller guys)

That all this EOBR stuff is about, the big fleets want to make everything equal so the little guys cant compete, They want safty give us some leway on sleeping and spliting sleeper berth time. A one size fits all does not work in trucking unless they get the shippers and recievers to do something.

They do seem to treat this as if every trucker is in OTR. Some rules may work for OTR but not for being home weekly or daily.

They really need to offer multiple logbook formats and HOS for the different divisions in trucking.

LOL! They tried that a few HOS-versions ago - everyone hated it! Go figure. Now, folks will bring multiple-HOS formats up as being a good thing.
