THIS WILL BE A UPDATED THREAD ...... SO CHECK BACK AND READ AS I GO THROUGH MY PROCESS WITH

FORT TRANSFER ....... A TANKER COMPANY

Well I hate to admit when I am wrong ( BUT I WAS WRONG) Quality Carriers is the bottom of the barrel ... IMO ... I was told not to go to Quality because you will end up in the HOLE ..... EVEN WITH NO TRUCK PAYMENT ..... BUT I DIDNT LISTEN ....:biggrin_25513: STUPID ME

    Here is breifly why :

    1. The fuel cut off is set up in a way to where you will always be in ARREARS and I get the feeling the company wants you to be for some reason ... I am not sure why but they just sent a letter to my house last week Thursday stating how they re worked the settlement sheets showing and updating your ARREARS BALANCE and this was an ENHANCED FEATURE ... :biggrin_25513: So much so they wanted you to know about it... Problem is FUEL CUT OFF is Tuesday at midnight and LOAD CUTOFF is Thursday ... Which after about 3 weeks you will find yourself in the ARREARS trying to catch up ( if you use their fuel card )
    2. The Freight Rates are among the LOWEST I HAVE SEEN in TANK and I mean LOOOOWWWWWWWWW !!!!! Example my last load to SK CANADA Paid me a grand total of $0.79 cpm for all miles with FSG yes I said WITH FSG ......
    3. The biggest problem that I see with QUALITY is that QUALITY does not own the FREIGHT nor the CUSTOMER BASE it is owned by the AFFILATE ..... This makes you reload capactity slim to none because the other affiliates in the area you unload must be willing to give you a load ( NOT HAPPENING) or you must deadhead back home or to the nearest place willing to give you another $$$ LOWWWWW PAYING LOAD ... In my time at QUALITY I was lucky enough to get one of these GREAT RELOADS ... :biggrin_25526: I had to dead head 1100 miles and wait for 2 days to load it after i dropped the tank at customer .... and guess what.... It convently canceled ... with no pay to me ....not 1 dime ... then dead head back home ...
You would think with all the HYPE THAT THEY PREACH ... We have over 100 TERMINALS ... We are the LARGEST TANK COMPANY IN THE USA... ETC ... that you could stay loaded and work .....

    Nope.....

Now I can see why they are in the TRUCK STOP BOOKS almost every one you see... And they promise you $1.25 fuel costs based @5.5 mpg well my truck avgs 6.0-6.3 loaded ( in tank thats pretty good loaded) and my best fuel costs if you figured in the FSG which is where they get the FIG FROM .... MY BEST FUEL COST was $1.50 that was my BEST .....

    REASON YOU ASK ?

SHORT MILES ... THEY PAY YOUR FSG ON HMG miles so thats how the FIG on the AD vs REAL LIFE is off by $0.25-0.40 per gallon avg was about $0.31 off of pump price

And to answer any questions you may have
    • I HAVE NO TRUCK PAYMENT $ 0.00
    • I NEVER TURNED DOWN A LOAD
    • I ALWAYS ASKED FOR A RELOAD
    • I WAS ALWAYS AVAL FOR DISPATCH
    • I RAN 100% LEGAL
    • I DO HAVE RESERVES IN AN ACCOUNT FOR THE TRUCK SO THIS WAS NOT A HASTEY MOVE ......
    • I ALSO OWN MY , FITTINGS, PUMP COMPRESSOR, AIR HOSES, PPE , OUT RIGHT SO $0.00 THERE ALSO
    I WAS WRONG .... :biggrin_25514: I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED !!!!!

    NEXT POST !!!!!!!

    Why I choose

    FORT TRANSFER

Fort is a small tank company located in Morton IL and primarily specializes in herbicide transport ... They run about 100 trucks 60-70 of which are Owner Ops so they must know how to treat an IC .

The turnover ratio is basically 0 but in real numbers they say about 15% which includes ...
    1. Seasonal Drivers ( for herb peak season )
    2. Retirment
    3. Fired
    4. Quit
    5. Death

You will not see them in a truck stop book . Nor in any website they are able to hire who they want

My take is 64% of gross and 100% FSG

Which is an increase of about 2% on the freight & bout 10-15% on FSG because quality paid a set amount FSG per mile which becomes less than 100% true billed FSG

They run about 99% 2 in hoses and best of all

    THEY DON'T PULL CHEAP FREIGHT

This is where I think I should have went all long

Fort has 2 terminals and run pretty well set areas

This I think is gonna be a good job

    I'll keep you posted

good luck,we have a lot in common, both worked for walmart so nothing is going to measure up to our standards,I cant make a decision either, least not the right one.going to work in the morning for Lawson Tank in Gainesville, but have a bad feeling, dont know why, looking at Truck Service in Forest City NC as a backup plan or Calex out of Pittston Pa , both van jobs, I know you said Tanker but after Superior changed the rules on me on the way to road test ... I dont know for sure what to do.
