This winter has been bad with me just driving my car and some of these trucks have there trailers full of snow and ice on top. Are they ever going to make a law or part of there winter pre-trip to remove all the snow and ice on top? Not really fun having chunks of ice hitting my window from 2 cars back. Thanks much.

They start enforcing that, and YOU get to run on up to the fiberglass top of that slippery trailer to sweep all the snow and ice off, slick. I ain't doin' it. Too danged dangerous. Don't want to get hit with snow and ice falling off the top of the trailer? Don't follow so close, won't be no problem. Or go around. You're choice.
striker, bugsy siegel, bullhaulerswife and 5 others Thank this. -
And how do you want us to remove snow and ice from the top of a trailer 13'6" off the ground? There isn't anything to tie off to for fall protection up there. Do you have any idea what those roofs are made of? I didn't think so. Well, let me educate ya. Listening? Good. At the most, it's 1/4" thick fiberglass. If it's a reefer, it will be 1/4" fiberglass, some insulation and another 1/4" of fiberglass. When's the last time you walked around on 1/4" fiberglass without falling through? I never have. And I only weigh 145 pounds.
Cars follow us and each other too close. You seem to think it's okay to follow 20 feet behind. Even on icy roads. If you are at the proper following distance, you won't have to worry about the snow shower when we're getting up to speed. So back off, enjoy the ride to where ever you're going and have a great day!AXE, shriner75, Raiderfanatic and 1 other person Thank this. -
In certain states like NJ there already are laws about snow removal on big trucks. The fine for not removing the snow is $400. The law also applies to cars.

At the Walmart DC near Loveland CO they have a big plow sort of thing mounted up on a frame - they drive the trailers underneath it and it plows all the snow off the top of the trailer, kinda a clever idea.

Maybe Pennsylvania realized what they were asking truckers to do. Or someone got a ticket for it and fought it before a judge who had a brain of his or her own.
It would be very dangerous for us to be up there, for one, but how would they propose we get up there in the first place?
They have those snow removers at a lot of Walmarts. But while I was with Prime, I asked to use it on a trailer. No, I was not allowed to use it and why did I even bother to ask? I should know that, like the scale, I am not allowed to use anything on Walmart property that might make my life easier. -
