I'm going OTR and I was wondering what's in a sleeper berth? I know there's a bed, but what else? Can I equip it with a microwave, fridge, etc.

Im just starting out myself, but depending on your company you can equip the truck with a microwave, frig, small oven, tv/vcr/dvd, etc.

Some companys already might have a reefer installed. But you can at times fit a nice tv a micrwave and maybe a portapotty.

    dont forget the power inverter.
most company's only allow a 1000 watt, which is barely enuff to run a nuke box, as for fridge you can buy one of those pug in electric coolers, i got one now that looks like a fridge and actully keeps things cold, got it at a TA fer $80, TV/VCR/DVD...those little portable ones work ok, but my laptop has a bigger screen

I like the coleman cooler. Got mine from Walmart. It keeps food hot or can keep stuff cold like a fridge. I bought the biggest one. Has an adapter plug so you can take it in a motel and plug it in to 110 as well. It actually freezes stuff. Going down the road I would unplug it because my drinks would get slushy.

I would recommend the cooler for the first thing to put pop/water in and get lunch meat to save money. If you have a laptop that would double as a dvd player and better than a tv because you will not have to strap it into the cubbie hole just put on the pass seat or on your bed when not in use. my laptop has a 15.4 wide screen

  8. And may I suggest a small George Forman grill, They are great for a quick burger(or chicken burger) Grilled cheese sandwich or even a hot dog. Walmart has 'em in stock and ready to go.

  9. Do you power the George Forman off an inverter, or do they make a 12v one?

  10. I have a 2000 watt inverter that I use and It will power most things incuding a vacuum to suck up dog hair. So the answer is a 120 volt Grill. To my knowledge thay do not make a 12V one. I use a Chicago Electric 2000 watt (4000 surge)inverterv that you can buy from Harbor Freight.com for about $165 that will run most anything you wish. Don't forget good 0 gauge wire and a circuit breaker or ANL fuse. You can get those from Curcuit City or anyone that installs large car stereos and amps(Crutchfields, etc).

  11. Thanks Lakesnake,
I was just at my mother-in-laws today fixing her toilet. She cooked me a burger on her small George Forman. She was complaining about only being able to cook one burger at a time. I told her that if she got one of the larger ones, I wanted that small one. Lol My recruiter at Roehl told me that I could put an inverter in the truck, but had to let them do it. I guess they want to make sure it is put in correctly.

    Thanks for the info,
