Mark,
Running from Emporia, Ks to Bridgeton, Nj-7E routed fine to the I79/I70 split in Pa then-routed south to I68-back To I70 in Maryland and then a whole skew of local roads back up to Jersey. This with tollways allowed. This is not the first time the unit has balked at I76 between New Stanton, Pa and Philly when headed to this customer (bout 20 east of Philly). Usually, I just detour the I68 and I79 legs and it puts the unit back on trak. Like the US36 issue-is there a built in bias against the PA Turnpike?
Also-how far away is the next software update?

Still loving my 700. I work it hard running mostly in the northeast, delivering to small town store fronts on routes not designed for trucks. It is not uncommon for me to be on at least one road for each delivery where I am only legal to be on that road because it is a local delivery. While it has routed me towards a few low clearance bridges and asked me to makes some turns that are impossible in a truck, I find it to me 99% accurate in these little non-truck friendly towns, which is impressive to me.
One thing that really bothers me is when the GPS decides that there is no legal route out of the area that I am in. What it will do is give me a pop-up informing me that I am not on a legal truck route and it ends my route. I would find it much more usefull if it would send me towards a legal truck route or just pause the route until I get somewhere the unit considers legal.
Only thing I see as a malfunction are the ratings for the POI stops. I use this feature often to not only rate truck stops, but in seeing the comments that others have left to make a determination as to if I want to stay there. What I find is that no matter what the rating is that the other users have left, it always shows the rating for that POI as half a circle. It correctly shows the ratings that I have left, and since there are five circles for the ratings left by others, I can only assume that it should show some rating for this stop.Mark Kling Thanks this. -
The next version is in QA... I do not have a posting date yet on that version.
thanks,

As for pay...HAHA... I work out of my house and that helps a lot. My boss is one in a Million. I even took him on the road for a week. He now has a whole new light on the industry. He even sampled the buffet at a truck stop... good think I had Imodium in the truck. He is one of the rare folks that listens to the customers he services.
Thanks,

Shortest and Fastest is found on mapquest (I can't post the link) it's shorter by an about an 1:10 min and 33 miles and those are all preferred truck routes. The TND 700 has me going down 219 to I80 to 220, 322 and south. I've gone that way before and it's truly an awful truck route. What's happened to the algorythm? I know there is a new map update coming in the 1st quarter any idea what it will cost and if it will address these issues?
The inability to use via points as true via points (not stops) is also really annoying. Any plans on fixing that?
On a positive note Overall I'm pretty happy with my 700. I was a long time user of Garmin products so there's a huge learning curve involved in the way RM's implements their software versus Garmin but if RM continues to improve and refine I believe they will have a better product. There are a lot of us truckers who need a good reliable tool like this so the market is large.Last edited: Jan 27, 2011
