    Hello all.
I have just been given the opportunity to be retrained courtesy of my state to rejoin you all on the road. Not sure when it happened but when I left the road I had fears that in the future I would have a problem if I chose to return.
Every driver I spoke to didn't seem to see any reason why it should be a problem, and nor did I. But some 12 years later after I have been driving class B concrete trucks all the while and now no construction I try to return and I'm no good in the insurance carriers eyes.
I would like to get into auto transport as two of my years OTR were as a second driver for an O/O in service with Reliable Carriers Inc. We ran six car enclosed, and at one point I teamed with one of there open car carriers for an expedited tour type deal.
So while I have some knowledge of the open cars, It's limited and very dated. I understand that this a very hands on "got to do it" to learn it type of operation and there is a sea of things you must know to operate with any level of success.
So my quest is for any information: books, web sites, guides, links etc. I want to suck up as much information as possible so I would have a better understanding of what I'm trying to learn. Any leads to companies that except newbs for when re-cleared for the road again would be of great help as well.
Thank you in advance for and replies and any input you may have for me.
    Keep it safe. greenwheeler.

There's a big auction over in Bordentown,Nj, I suggest you go hang out and talk to drivers and watch them load. The car hauling business is pretty depressed right now.

    greenwheeler Thanks this.

yes I've been there several times in the past. But those guys are so git and go that I hate to bother them. They run around that rig like a squirrel looking for nuts. I know new car transport is pretty slow now but it seems that the auction sales are still going strong as I see a lot of calls for help for experienced auto haulers in the auction trans. in my area. Make sense in this economy as I see a lot of dead used car lots come back to life.
