How much $$ would you recommend a L/O have in the bank before starting? I have spoken with you folks before, and I appreciate your honesty, which is why one day I would like to give Sammons a shot...I have 5 years OTR experience, almost all flat and or step, but no oversize except for round bales of hay.. This being a company driver(being a slave)is not working out so well for me..I have to edit regarding my last remark, what I meant by that is,no matter who I have worked for,I have been put into the unenviable position of 20 hour workdays, not day,but days, due to what I conclude are either lazy, stupid, and or greedy dispatcher"s-brokers who could obviously care less about my career or me....I KNOW what trucking is,but would like a little more say so in the running of MY life OTR.....

There is no money down to get into our program. As for how much you should have in the bank I'll defer to the standard financial planner line. Three months of your bills. Since we have it set up by percentages you will have money going to you as long as you run and the maintenance and all the truck expenses go on the truck side. This way you don't need to save the money for large maintenance bills or working for weeks with a negative balance pay check. When it comes down to it the savings isn't as important not having huge bills to pay. Call us when you are ready and I'll go over anything you want.

Our rule is 10 years old but we do make some exceptions. With pictures and a new annual inspection we could make it work. get ahold of recruiting or go fill out an app online at www.sammonstrucking.com.
Thanks for the interest, I look forward to talking with you.

The trucks are governed at 70 MPH. You choose the loads you take and how you run your business. We have a load board, dispatchers, and agents to help you find something you want to take or you if you find something else you want as long as we can get them credit we can book it for you.

I am interested in your heavy haul division. I have 3 1/2 years of heavy haul experience, up to 10 axles and 200,000lbs. in most of the central US and Ontario. Do you offer 3-4 axle RGN, and is there enough loads that are in your customers system that would keep me rolling to justify going into that division. I am also interested in knowing if there is enough of the kw 660's available, or is there other trucks available, and/or 4 axles. The web site just shows the 660's.

If I was interested in going to flatbed or drop deck would i have to go through some sort of training for that, i have checked other companies out, and they have told me that although i have that type of experience i still do not have flatbed, and i need training for hauling coils.
