Hello everyone. I am currently looking for work as a class a cdl driver. Since no big trucking companies will give me a shot becasue of 1 or 2 reasons, 1- no 3 year verifiable work history 2- insulin waiver. iI am hoping a o/o will be willing to give me a chance to prove myself. I live in north central florida, and can be out for 3-4 weeks. graduated a 7 week truck driving school and can provide all credentials from school. Thank you

That will be tough. Both of those reasons will make it very limited. Living in FL just about pushes it over the edge.

    123456 Thanks this.

I was told by a recruiter at Swift that they don't hire drivers on insulin. Roehl and Conway would have taken me but I cannot legally go in to Canada. So now if i can only find an o/o that needs a co driver, willing to take a chance on me, I'd be set. Or is this a pipe dream?

Diabetes is a disabilty. Someone needs to file a lawsuit against them for violating the American Disability Act. If a doctor says it's okay for you to drive, then it should be.

    The federal regulations say otherwise.

What do they say? It's the DOT doctors giving out the waivers?
