Well...if you have a notebvook it might not have a dvd player....only leaves one option ...tv/dvd....I have the Nexa 13.3 on sale recently at Pilot $179.00. But with Pilot rewards points it was much less......ur right about the sound though...netbook and tv both have really "tinty" sound. Other than that both work great.

I carry one of the Burton butane burners for cooking. Faster, cheaper and more efficient than the 12v appliances and I don't eat all the bs in the truckstops. 12v coffee pot. Bless Swift I wish they would let me pay a mechanic to install a big inverter in the truck so it would be to their specs, but since they won't the 12v pot has been a must have. Especially since they took out the terminal coffee pots in favor for those horrid vending machines.

Note on GPS - we're all getting the new style Qualcomm units which have Maptuit graphical GPS built into them. I already have one in my truck.

I carry my Wii with me, but I don't really play much. It will run on the small "sort of approved" 400W inverters fine with a tv.

If you don't have an APU or a bunk heater....a set of flanel sheets and THE BEST MONEY I've ever spent on something for my truck is a bunk warming pad. One of those you sleep on and plugs into your cig lighter. Ive slept in 20 degree weather and only had to turn it half way up to stay warmwhile sleeping.

Wow I ran out of money!!!!

    Got the tools
    Internet for laptop
    bedding
    CB
Misc items like baby wipes, paper towels and so on

Did not plan on the downtime after I got of the trainers truck so for the next two weeks my pay will be low. Hopefully I get out of the terminal tomorrow. Got to keep the rest of my money for the bad weeks.

Hopefully I will have the fridge next.

Yeah I'm not even getting a strap roller that's how much I'm holding back on extras for the next couple weeks. You might want to look into the fridge idea with a company truck bluebonn. Hard to do.

A real refrigerator maybe, but a decent 12V cooler can be done easily - even on a company truck.

My mentor had the Coleman cooler, and it kept everything very cold. It might not do as well in the dead of summer, but if you can keep the cab below 85 degrees or so it should do just fine.

While waiting to be assigned a truck I ended up buying a CB radio, which was not even near the top of my list. Good deal, though, ~$75 for a "NEW! LE COBRA 29LTD Army Strong Edition 40-CH CB Radio" off E-Bay.
Now I've really got to watch my money, since I'll not have any paychecks for at least another 2 weeks. But I should be in my truck this next week.

I was told we are charged for strap rollers, but then the Gary terminal gave me an extra one for free. Hell, if we cross paths i'll give you one...I have an extra stashed under the bunk!

There is nothing worse than landing in that drivers seat and having the stench of butt come wafting up. :puke:
