In ND there is no "spring breakup". No layoffs for us. Rigs stop moving as frequent but all of the us trucking companies end up with "frost laws". Meaning that we can't haul the same loads we were hauling. Soooooo that mean we have to haul MORE loads with LESS product on each load. We also don't have super b's in the states. I do agree with the off road experience. Spring time is when you earn your money around here. Mud up to your elbows.

There is a housing BOOM that has been going on for 3 years or so. Do some internet searches for Bakken oil boom or specifically Williston, ND Bakken Oil boom.

    Check em out.

The New York Times has been out here . There is a new TV series about Parshall, ND coming out this week. Google it. It's on the "green channel" so take it with a grain of salt. Do some searches and you'll get 100 videos on the boom, the housing market, the need for workers, etc.

I've heard that Key is having a tough time keeping drivers and mechanics in Tioga/Stanley. They have been in Williston as a service rig provider for years but are new to the dance in ND with water trucks. They are a HUGE company but are having problems. No offense to TX and other southern state drivers but it's been a #### tough winter in ND and Key has moved up management and drivers from TX that don't have the winter driving experience that is needed here. From Tioga to Williston (45 miles) there were 7 pickups/trucks rolled or in the ditch. None of which were Key but some were southern drivers.

I didn't mean to end the last post on that note. What I was getting at was Key is hiring, but there are tons of other companies looking for drivers too. www.jobsnd.com is a good place to look and so is www.theshopperinc.net.

It is brutal. I hauled some of those ceramic beads up there last year just on a broker load.

I just posted the link to Key because I saw it advertised here.

    Hey truckers ...

I'm posting for my trucker boyfriend ... there's nothing going on here in the Northwest so he's thinking of coming over to ND to work.

He's an o/o Kenworth truck/pup. Can anyone suggest/point us in the right direction as to which companies are working steady/good to work with, how are things over there right now? Or, does he just drive on over there and hope to drive independently? Money, of course, is an issue here so we want to be as prepared and informed as possible.

I've also read some postings about things picking up in SW Montana and/or Wyoming ... any info on that?

I'll keep digging ... thank you to all who reply back.

Stay safe and good luck to you all!

Can you tell me which companies are hiring out of Stanley, ND?

My boyfriend is an o/o Kenworth truck/pup, end dump. There is nothing going on here in the Northwest. Any suggestions, information will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi!

My boyfriend and I are in the Pacific NW ... there's nothing going on here! So, he's thinking of heading over to ND. He's an o/o, Kenworth, truck/pup/end dump. A friend is driving a pickup out with the camper.

He/we don't want to do this blindly ... that would be foolish and very expensive!

I've been doing a lot of the computer "research" for him. Do you have any info/advice to offer as to which companies he could get on with, is there work for his type of truck, what is the pay rate, when do they get paid ... important things like that!

ANY information will be very appreciated!

    Thank you so much!

Stay safe and good luck to you!

I believe a company that runs out of Westhope, ND called Diamond B is always looking. Your gonna need a passport to haul the crude up to Canada.

I had an owner op call today from WA that had a list of 40 trucking companies in the area he was calling. I'd say to just have your boyfriend start calling. Some take owner ops, some don't. Never hurts to ask. Diamond B Oilfield Trucking does run a ton of leasers. They are based out of Plentywood, MT but have trucks in Westhope, Tioga, and Williston. Good luck.
