I was one of those. I smoked for 30 years and tried to quit several times but the addiction was too powerful to kick. Then I got cancer and suddenly got my priorities straight. Like in Cool Hand Luke it's all about getting your mind right. When I quit my mind was not focused on how much discomfort I was going through, it was focused on being alive and staying that way as long as possible. I had finally come across an easy and painless way to quit smoking! I never gave one thought to cigarettes while quitting because mentally I had completely removed them from the equation. Seven years later and I know I will never have the desire to smoke again. It's as simple as mind over matter, anyone that smokes can easily quit if they utilize the fact that their mind is infinitely more powerful than a dead weed saturated with nasty chemicals. For me, it took getting cancer to realize this.
Why do they ask you if you smoke?

Tobacco is not a weed! We are looking into growing our own tobacco and rolling our own home grown "weed"!
The only reason they don't make tobacco products illegal is an easy 3 letter word answer....TAX -

speaking of "blowing smoke up your arse"....has anyone ever seen any study on tobacco smoke based with a "clean air" double blind test? When they started getting the crap out about second hand smoke....that's when I got really miffed! Never have they done a legitimate scientific test done eliminating the "normal" pollutants in the air that everyone breathes!
Back to the OP original question that has been answered several times....Swift (and other training companies) ask if you smoke merely for the Mentor placement!
By my count last month...there are 42 different #1 KILLERS from these "whose fault is it" groups!Injun Thanks this. -
Okay, your mind is infinitely more powerful than a plant that is saturated with nasty chemicals. -
The nasty chemicals aren't introduced until the plant gets to the processor.
