Sounds likle they got lead feet and idle alot. Out smart them by using the ECM parameters like governing and idle shut down. That'll break them.
Figure your mpg the old way by mileage and fuel purchased. Then you'll know for sure. I have seen ECM's and peoplenet not agree.
One difference between a new driver and an old driver is mpg's. Hire an old fart.
Am I getting robbed or just being paranoid??

Theft by drivers is nothing new.
Years back , I drove for a small 20 truck outfit , boss switched me with another driver on a dedicated run.
1st place I stopped for fuel pump jockey asked " Who else was filling up on the company $0.10 TODAY " , seems the other driver owned a truck of his own and had very LOW operating costs.
Next day I pull in for fuel , guy at the desk asks where is so & so that usually drives that unit , if you see him tell him his new tires are in .Lilbit Thanks this. -
About 15 years ago the owner of the company i used to work for, would sometimes take a trip just for fun. We used to go to the Ontario Calif area allot. He's at the then "76", TA west now truck stop. He hears someone on the CB selling load-locks cheap, well he thinks "great" as he supplied the load-locks for all the trailers. So he wanders over to the sales area, & here is one of his drivers! Selling his load-locks. He kept the guy on till he got back to the terminal then canned him.
Big Don Thanks this. -

had a driver that was filling up his pick up truck , dummy didn't see the camera on the edge of the building , he was a new hire lasted 1 week he came in all huffy about his check being $175 short , I showed him the tape and the door . , most of my drivers knew I knew wht the trucks should get in milage , abd if the milage dropped , it was in the shop being looked at , this is where fuel bonuses came in play . I had one of my drivers have his tanks siphoned while the truck was at a satalite terminal , I knew it wasn't him as he was more ticked off than I was as he couldn't make it to the truckstop to refuel and was late to his dedicated load .
if it was me and your questioning it , I would can them both as they are up to no good , put them in a ecm truck and watch there idle times and driving habits if you have one . that should explain the fuel usage . -
Had a driver that during the winter would dump fuel into his heating oil tank. Easy to tell which tank he took it from as the drain plug came out real easy. Shut off the PU/return to that tank and filled it up with water. The driver quit a few days later when his heating failed.
You want to catch them selling fuel, you have the times they use the fuel card, call the station and ask for security tapes for that time. Then press charges. -
Pop a nanny came on the fuel tanks, they cost like $200 dollars and come as small as a button. Willing to bet they won't notice.

throw them to the wolves, I hate thieves and they need to get what they deserve.

Yup. I like watching the show "Bait Car". So funny watching these scumbags get busted.
