FWIW - "Cleveland Rocks" is originally by former Mott the Hoople lead singer Ian Hunter, from his 1979 album You're Never Alone With a Schizophrenic.

The Presidents of the United States covered "Cleveland Rocks" in 1997, and their version was used as the opening for The Drew Carey Show.

Here is Ian performing it live at the Astoria in London, 2004.

:biggrin_25523: You Tell 'em!!! Naw but SERIOUSLY, recruiters are like used car salesmen trying to get you to buy a lemon. Don't believe half of what they say. You will find yourself getting a DOT physical done and not meet a medication policy or something not disclosed to you and get sent home.
Make SURE you know what you are doing before accepting leaving town for orientation. Check EVERYTHING out FIRST!!!! This means studying the current FMCSR regulations and also ask many questions about the companies policies if you take ANY and I mean ANY medications or if you have ANY FORM of diabetes. If the recruiter is unsure about the policies (90% of the time they won't) check with THE COMPANY'S medical examiner yourself. I have seen too many people getting sent home for these things after a recruiter feeds them a load of crap.

Don't be too hard on Paddington. I think he used to drive for schneider. Had it tough when they started dumping drivers about 3 years ago.

Okay, for those of us who have been struggling to get/keep a job due to a failing economy, I'm going to protest.

My credit cards are maxed. This is due to trying to support myself and provide for four kids while having not worked for nine years because I was a stay-at-home mom.

My savings (yes, I had one and I /still/ put $5 in every month, although I have to take it right back out) is empty. So is my checking account. I am now in debt more than I have ever been in my life.

I have two college degrees. I have worked in a variety of industries, right up to management. But I am not hireable anymore because of those nine years at home.

I would love to go on the road with $100 per week in my pocket but, if I wasn't going to team, then I would be going out with a bare minimum of whatever I get from orientation.

Not everyone who has no money to get started is "ex-cons, the homeless, parolees, and other assorted lowlifes". Some of us are just struggling in the times we live in and are making the best of it we can.
