I am retiring soon so I will not be spending anymore of my money. An APU is a great investment however. You should most certainly buy one.

Thanks Mike, Ya the return on investment is pretty impressive for these units. I have decided on a Carrier Comfort Pro. Having it installed in Omaha NE. $7,800 installed. Should pay back in less than 18 months. Judging by the amount of posts on this subject, not to many guys have this. I just hope the Carrier will do the job.

I have a Pony Pack that was installed last December for $9100.00 USD.
Already have over 1200 hrs. on it with no problems. Best money I ever spent. Unlike others, it is not a "split" system and uses existing a/c and heater controls and cores. Just bought a 2003 Columbia and moved from my old truck myself. It took me two days plus two cases of brew :biggrin_255:...really simple set up.

A lot of the big companies are switching to the Thermo King.

Thanks for the comebacks fellas, The Co. I am leasing on to uses the Thermo King units. But I made up my mind (good or bad) to go with the Carrier. I leave this Thursday to go pick up my truck in Omaha, bob tail up into MN do the paperwork thing with new Co. and hit the road one more time. I'll let you all know how it works out.

    Guys
I am sold on the Willis APU. A bit more pricey than the rest at about $9700, it is by far the veritable Rolls Royce of APU's. With a smooth little 3 cyl Kubota diesel and air compressor option on the priciest model the benefits are big monthly savings on fuel bills.
Hey why have 500hp on tap just to heat or cool the sleeper. The Kubota burns a qt/hr going flat scat.
With battery monitoring and big engine temperature sensing I never come back to the truck with a cold engine or flat batteries.
We liked it so much we even sent a unit to my brother in Spain for fitment to his Scania.
    Cheers

I had a Onan. Worked great and ws quiet but in some noisy truckstops it was too quiet. I love having flavored coffee or at least my own coffee. And in the winter it ws reassuring to know the Big Cat would start and be warmed up even in the Rockies at -30
