How many gallons of tranny fluid does a 10 spd eaton fuller tranny take.... International tech told me 4 1/2 gal and my mechanic thought it would take about 4. I have a 06 9400i and drained Trans and got about. 2 1/2 gal and put about that much in when it started to flow out. Are the both wrong or did I miss a 2nd drain plug or something.
    TIA

there is overfill hole on tranny, so do not worry, you cant put more oil in tranny you need.

Correct, when you reach the top of the fill hole, then the tranny is full. Regarding the amount, the tech might have thought the entire system..... tranny, tranny cooler, and hoses. There is easily a couple more gallons in the cooler and hoses. It take air pressure device to "push" the oil out of the hoses and cooler, so most places hardly ever do it. Most just change the fluid in the tranny itself.

I didn't do mine myself. I had my tire dealer do it last fall along with the diffs. There brand is the brand in the top recommended category of oil by Eaton, so I just had them do it while in there getting an alignment, so can't remember off hand the total amount.
