Transmission crossmember or not?

    So I noticed the other day that my transmissions floating in mid air only being held on by the motor. Here are some pics, to me this seems like someone left something out.

    there is a levitation solenoid on the tramsmission---you are good to go

    I see two bolts.......................should there be a support there?

    Have any work done recently?

    The main transmission case is pretty much the same for all models so most transmissions will have those studs weather you need them or not. The rear studs you see are for a rear support needed for mostly 18 speed transmissions that have the big rear section. Yours looks to be a 10 speed so the rear support isn't needed.     Those bolts are where it goes and you can plainly tell by dirt and rust that it was there at some point.

    are you saying no supports needed?

    I find it hard to believe there is none...............

    it should have what looks like a spring that bolts there frame rail to frame rail with the two nuts that go on the bolts sticking up

    I would think thint without any support, it would be a little hard on the housing?

    it may be but if you look at the spring like thing i don't think it supports i think it like takes the bounce out of things when going into gear

    Even RWD car transmissions have rear support. Too much stress on several things without it.
