Do you think Truck Drivers should be allowed to carry pistols in their trucks?

I think you have a better chance of hitting the lottery than being killed for your organs and if that's enough to scare you away from a TS, trucking isn't for you, IMHO.....

Have you seen most of the drivers out there.. Do you really think their organs are worth much?

I don't believe that for a minute. These 'organ harvest' stories have been around longer than the internet.

 

The best thing to do is tell your drivers no...the point that has probably been made that it's not in the best interest of your company to have your drivers carrying handguns.

There is no DOT Regulation against drivers carrying handguns; however states can set their own precedent. As an example, I have a permit to carry here in the state of Georgia with some exclusions such as schools, churches, etc. I can carry in a CMV if I so choose however my permit to carry is for Georgia so if I travel to a different state the rules may change.

My company on the other hand does not allow guns in our trucks so regardless of my permit the company says NO and it is a terminable offense.

BTW I am no longer a driver either and I currently work for our Safety & Compliance deparment. You can research it if you want but we were just discussing this as well a few weeks ago.

 

LOL Not today. Now yesterday he was potential target practice. Poor man. No, today it's idiots in 4wheelers, motorcycles and punks on bicycles. Seriously.........I'm thinking that punk on the Schwinn would have made a great hood ornament.
