If it's anything like when I left just shy of paying off the school, there will be a remaining balance. Our Oldgoatie will not have to come up with the full $3,900. Whatever has been paid, will be credited to him. Additionally, the student loan department will most likely be willing to work with him on a payment plan. As long as he is on time with it, it should remain an interest-free loan. That said, I was not let go. I found something else due to several factors. I felt the thumbscrews tightening and had an opportunity pop up out of nowhere.
I will be waiting to see what happens in Sonny's case. Because I would love to put "paid" to the rumors and lies once and for all.
Oldnewbie, not a Swiftie as of approx 1430CST today!

Cool just wanted to verify what I thought their tuition deal was in case someone asked.
As a side note people actually live in Maine? Really? Explains the marriage then.

The down side here is that I will not be reimbursed for the tuition any longer since I'm no longer a Swift driver. The reimbursement is a "perk" that you get if you stay with Swift for 26 months.
Here's what happens: $75/week is debited from your payroll account (after you go solo or team) for 52 weeks (52 weeks x $75/week = $3900). Also, each week, $37.50 is credited to your payroll account for reimbursement for schooling. (Ya gotta stay stay with Swift for the $37.50 to keep happening. They DO NOT continue to reimburse you if you are terminated or leave on your own.) At the end of 104 weeks the cost of schooling has been completely paid back to you (104 weeks x $37.50/week = $3900).
Recap:
1) You DO NOT have to work for Swift after you get through Swift school.
2) You DO NOT sign ANYTHING, AT ANY POINT, where you promise to work for Swift for any length of time. What you sign is a promise to pay back the $3900 whether you drive for Swift or not.
3) You must pay for the school whether up front or through weekly payments (if you drive for Swift after you finish school).Ducks, scottied67, Tazz and 3 others Thank this. -
Software indeed....give me my ZEBRA pen, a blank log book, and I can be anywhere I want to be! Probably on time too!
Now where did I put the log book this time....I need it to figure out where I am and when I can leave again!!!!!!JustSonny, Palazon and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -

I gotta tell y'all, that DDL comes in pretty #### handy.
During a level 2 inspection at the Kansas scale on 35 NB coming outta OK, the inspecting officer told me not to worry about my logs when I explained they were on my laptop.
I was still using the free trial version at that time.
A week later I coughed up the $50.
Still to this day I've never had to show a LEO my DDL log "book".
I ain't saying I won't ever have to, but it ain't happened yet.panhandlepat and Gears Thank this. -
JustSonny Thanks this.
