AT is higher , AT is wider just compare strator and powerstar

Not all our trucks are 6x4 I have one that's 6x2 but it's not worth a crap on anything remotely slick. Due to tire slippage on even wet pavement tire life is horrible. Empty you must dump suspension on the dead axle or you can get stuck on a pile of wet cat poo. It works well for what we use it for but we needed a light truck. However Peterbilt now offers drive axles with aluminum housings so you can get a 6x4 truck as light as a 6x2 without the traction issues.

The Camry is also quieter, safer, more comfortable and more powerful. All that stuff adds up.

here 6x4 is considered as truck with bad fuel millage , bad tire life

also suspension last more on 6x2

here only place where 6x2 is not good is on soft ground. on snow, slippery roads , or on places off road where truck can wheel spin (for example empty dump truck on hard surface but off road ) it is better than 6x4

in scandinavia it is normal in winter time to raise tag axle and get 44000-46000lbs on drive axle , also in norway legal weight go up to 56t(123500lbs)

and in this case you can climb steep frozen hills , so here only construction trucks use 2drive axles and timber trucks , in scandinavia even construction trucks have 6x2

some 6x4/8x4 construction trucks have option to lifting rear axle even while they are loaded

alu housing sounds interesting what is difference in 6x2-6x4 in NA
here average is about 550kg ( 6x2 with single tires)-1200lbs

Have you ever ridden inside a modernized custom 1955 bel air with IFS suspension and a custom interior? It is all those things the Camry is.......and.......you don't have to be embarrassed driving it around.

I doubt there will be any 2011 Camry's on the road in 50 years. :biggrin_2559:

You don't have to sacrifice style if you don't want to.

    In 50 years?
With the way things are going we will be lucky to be driving at all.
If we are it will more then likely be electrically powered whatever.

All my tires have to be on the road while loaded. I even have an extra liftable pusher axle so I can carry extra weight. In the winter on ice, when no one is around, I lift my pusher axle but quickly drop it when I see enforcment or hear about them in the area. I also spend a great deal of time off highway to get to our load points so we need the extra live axle and we have to use our power divider or dif locks to get in and out of these areas.
