Maybe on Ashland they are QC overflow.
On P&G out of Sacramento I never saw QC trucks in there when we were running it. It was always us and Schnieder. That freight went back to railcars a few months ago.
Been a couple of years since I had to deadhead to Pasadena. Hope its not a sign of the economy. Lots of trailers sitting here in Pasadena. I had a hard time finding a spot on the yard for my dirty one.

Trimac Anounces :
NEW PAY PACKAGE for Owner Opps
Should have been announced
Trimac Anounces
NEW PAY CUTS for Owner Operators
I'll have more details tonight ...
( disgusted ) -
OK, as I promised I will break down the NEW IC PAY PACKAGE at TRIMAC which as I stated is actually a NET PAY CUT .. As you read this post you will see the break down . The reason I am posting this package because I feel that it is important that if anyone was considering TRIMAC as an IC based on my HAPINESS with them I want to get all the facts out there even the NEW ONES ...
Note .. I was happy at TRIMAC until just Thursday evening when I found out about this and Friday when I confirmed it with management and other high brass. So be assured this is not DRIVER TALK nor SKUTTLE BUTT but facts that I found out or stumbled upon and they ( TRIMAC CONFIRMED)
Note #2 .. This post only reflects IC (Owner Operators) and not Company Drivers. Not sure of any Company Driver pay changes or even if there are any coming .
Here is the outline , I will start with current pay matrix and then go to the new pay package and will only be laying out a few key terms LOADED, EMPTY, BONUS .. And then will hit on the FUEL DISCOUNT PROGRAM
This is on a SYSTEM CONTRACT ONLY ... DEDICATED is less per mile but the FSG is the same as will be listed below
Current Pay
$1.10 loaded
$0.90 empty
Bonus 8%
FSG based on $1.20 per gallon currently today FSG is 0.46 loaded and empty per my contract today . 3.82 fuel cost
So 1.56 loaded and 1.36 empty
New Pay Package
$1.30 loaded
$0.92 empty
bonus 10%
FSG based off of $2.10 or $2.20 not excatly sure but I signed my new contract and here the FSG on that contract as of today also with fuel on AVG 3.82 is 0.24 (24 cents ) if you want the tech equasion almost 25 cents its 0.0249 ill use 25 by just simple rounding but its less than 25 so keep that in mind .
So 1.55 loaded and 1.17 empty
The numbers listed above are as of todays fuel prices not some number from the sky i found . Im no math major but looks to me i tend to take a
0.01 cent hit loaded ( not terrible but not good )
0.19 cent hit empty ( wow )
now base that off of a 2500 mile week where as you know most weeks you run roughly 50/50 or at best 60/40 loaded empty ratio in tanks not every week but most if you avg it over a entire year ... lets take the best ratio of 60/40
40% of 2500 = 1000 ( your empty miles on avg )
Now take that by the 0.19 pay cut its easy math its a $190.00 cut per week just on your empty miles .
190 x 52 = $9,880.00 (a year)
now take your 0.01 hit on your loaded miles I know its trival but its still a cut loaded .. use the same equasion as above
60% of 2500 = 1500 ( loaded miles )
Thats a weekly hit of $15.00 weekly loaded
15 x 52 = $780.00
So net cut in a normal year and yes I know most do not work 52 weeks a year but its a simple equasion you can fix the numbers by 46 weeks or even 40 if needed the cut is the same just change the weeks to get real numbers.
9880 + 780 = 10,660
I will speak on the bonus and fuel discount next post . But there are the numbers in black and white . The reason for the change I am told is to boost driver recruiting by having larger numbers on the ad and the fact they took a national FSG hit with one major customer and giving the residual efffect to the IC .
You may ask , Are you still happy ?
Answer is NO.. BUT that could change if they see what they did to the everyday IC and change that FSG calculation but as of today NO NOT HAPPY -
Can you live with that Pay cut which can avg from as posted 10,660
8600-11800 depending on miles driven and weeks worked
Now it gets a little betterJK ..
The bonus ... its going up to 10% so that should increase your wage correct ?
Personally I think not and here is why ..
1. Its a SAFETY and PERFORMANCE Bonus ... I can deal with safety .. tickets, spills, lights out, paper work, logs, you should be docked for that on your bonus I agree with that 110% Now PERFORMANCE ??? Who determains your performance , is it .. LATES, OVER MPH, what is it .. ? no one can tell me ..
So my thoughts on a bonus is if its not defined DO NOT COUNT ON IT .. Reason that I say that is you have no control over it so DO NOT count it as a basis of a WAGE .. or a reason to lease on to a company ..
Personally I got my bonus it was 2400.00 but Ive taked to some who did not just FYI do not base it as a WAGE if you get it GREAT if you dont YOU KNOW WHAT YOU GOT !! Loaded / Empty If you can make it on that .. then lease on but the BONUS as I said DO NOT COUNT ON IT AS WAGE ...
Fuel Discount Program :
Trimac does seem to have a good Fuel discount program problem is you better check that reciept to your settlement to see if what TRIMAC says is the discount in fact is the discount . Trimac has a website in which you will gain access to after you lease on which will list fuel stops by state and the discount.. THE PROBLEM is the dont update it daily so you may choose a fuel stop because it says the discount is 0.19 or up to 0.31 but when you check your recipet to your settlement you got 0.04 .. Reason is that discount you saw ended yesterday and they didnt update the fuel site so just FYI be ready for this. and before someone says it ...
NO THEY DO NOT POST THE FULL DISCOUNT ON THE RECT ... YOU WILL ONLY SEE THE 3-4 CENTS OFF THE CASH PRICE THATS IT AND THEN ... YES.. YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE RECIPET AGAINST YOUR STATEMENT TO SEE IF YOU IN FACT GOT THE POSTED DISCOUNT ... OFF THE WEBSITE FOR TRIMAC FUEL DISCOUNTS
Now with that said . Lol ...I hope I have given you a good guideline in order to make a sound choice to wheater or not TRIMAC will work for you. I am not trying to DETRACT anyone heck I get a bonus if you sign on ... But I just want to get the facts out there as was just recently given to me.
-
The pay listed above is supose to start in OCTOBER but I was told when I signed my
NEW LEASE ... it could be any week ... -
On a 50/50 ratio ( thats 50% loaded 50% empty ) it will look like this
50% of 2500 = 1250
1250x 0.01 = 12.50 per week cut
12.50 x 52 = 650.00
50% of 2500 = 1250
1250 x 0.19 = 237.50
237.50 x 52 = 12,350
12,350 + 650 = 13,000 net cut
Note, Based off of 52 weeks again just change the number of weeks in the bottom roll to the number of weeks you normally work to figure your number ...
If you know your loaded empty ratio if its 53% or etc just change the numbers its simple math these are just examples ....
EXAMPLES ONLY .... -
TRIMAC has teamed up with ATBS LEASECO to lease trucks to IC'S for upgrades and to NEW IC's who need a truck.
The trucks can be found on the ATBS LEASECO site if you are interested in leaseing with TRIMAC through this program with LOW to NO DOWN PAYMENT ....
TRIMAC will even install a PUMP / Compressor at NO CHARGE to the IC
Now ..... If you read my earlier 3 -4 posts heres a Question for you ....
I WONDER WHY ?1catfish Thanks this. -
