I have the funds to buy a Pneumatic 1000 cu ft. trailer. For weight reasons should I go with a Freighliner mid to small sleeper or can you haul with a Kenworth or Pete?
I will have my own authority but looking to lease on any pointers would be helpful.
Is the business still hot and busy or does anyone see signs of slowing down?

Get up to ND or North east MT areas and get to work.

Welcome to TTR. Normally in hauling bulk commodities, you're better off sticking with light weight equipment so that you can haul a bigger payload - assuming that you are paid based on weight. But, considering some of the stories I hear about how much time some of the sand haulers are spending on locations, I think I'd want to have plenty of room to be comfortable.
You can go to the "Similar Threads" links at the bottom of this page for a quick link to some of the threads about frac sand hauling. -

Less tare wt = MORE payload, which = more $$$$, right ?

Texas has a lot of fraccing going on now also

Buy what you want.....just understand the usual weight you need to haul
is between 48-50K.
Usually 50. I do it with a big sleeper 9400I and an Aluminum Heil.
Full of fuel loading 50K and I gross about 80,500.
Petes and KWs etc are 82 or better......buy an overweight permit for the Texas counties you'll be running in.
You'll need it for weight limited FM roads anyway. -
Reds right they load em HEAVY!

Maybe in Cali that's the best choice.........in Texas........ it's Frac Sand. -
