Well Pic..there are things I could tell you that would make your jaw drop. Things I have found out through some rather extensive research.

But, as of yet, I cannot divulge any of it for reasons I, also, as of yet, cannot divulge. I hate to be so mysterious but it is, at this time, necessary.

There is a very good reason you cannot find the KLLM bankruptcy...that is all I can say. You have to know the RIGHT way to look for it.

For the record, I've been with KLLM since 11/07 and leased my truck in 2/09.

Yes, repo'ed was the wrong word to use. My bad. The trucks were sold as part of discharging the bankruptcy.

There is a LOT going on that you guys don't know about. I wish I could fill you in....honest to God, I do. But right, now, at the present, I can't. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to. I hate secrets....but necessary in this case.

If you sign on to the lease-purchase program at this point, you will have no option but to take the maintenance escrow. As of, I believe it is three weeks ago now, they no longer offer the guaranteed maintenance plan...at all. All l/p drivers have to build up the $5000 maintenance escrow. At present, the only trucks being offered are Columbias....I'm being told there are no Cascadias available. That may change in the future...who knows.
Just because you have not heard about the problems I have alluded to does not mean they don't exist. I can assure you they do and that they are not only real but very valid. They are not limited to just one or two drivers either. Believe me...don't believe me...makes no nevermind to me. Since you're not yet signed on to the l/p program, the issues I'm speaking about likely won't even affect you as the company has learned, and continues to learn, where its loopholes and loose ends are...hence the end of the guaranteed maintenance program. However, there are some serious loose ends it has yet to tie up and its butt is hanging out in a big way if it doesn't figure out how to gracefully put a neat little bow on them.

You know Toad..... it's funny that some of these L/P Drivers that I run across, keep telling me that there is something funny going on at the company. They can't quite put there finger on it, but they feel alot more tension when they walk in the Jackson Office, and there are plenty of complaints from their fellow drivers on the road. One driver I talk to regularly, who has been there for many years, says he's getting ready to bail. He and his wife have been discussing it and he seems to be getting ready to make a move to one of two other companies. It's kind of sad, because he really liked the company for years. But there is just too much negative going on right now as far as the L/P. I wish those people plenty of luck and hope things work out. There's nothing like working your ### off for a company, and then getting bent over and porked for it.

Getting your own maintence plan is better than having the company work on your truck. And Not to say iDidn't believe you RT just havent heard anything about it and it would very important to at least give us some insight since there are drivers about to start at KLLM like what are the main issue's With L/P? My uncle been told me that getting guaranteed Maintence was A Bad Way to go Period. And they Are only leasing Columbia's Say's Alot right there. Cause at one point in time wasn't they Only Leasing Cascadia's? iWouldn't mind gett'n one as Long as it's a Good truck here is a Photo of my Uncle's

My advice is that whatever truck you get, I'd take it ASAP to Detroit Diesel to have the engine inspected and then to Freightliner to have the rest inspected. I believe they are giving drivers 30 days to find problems that will be fixed on the company dime...after that, it's out of your pocket.
If you have any work done at the company shop - make sure you get an invoice before you leave...and make sure you look at it carefully. Make sure there are no Incompletes left hanging.

Right now, from drivers, I'm hearing that miles are abysmal. 1400-1600/wk for solos and not much more for teams and trainers. I have drivers who have not seen a paycheck in close to 3 months and have had to live off advances - both because of the lack of miles and because of being forced to take their trucks to a company shop and being forced to wait 2 or more days before their truck even gets into the shop.

The other problems are ones that won't affect you.

Hope you have a big cushion. Mine was $6000 of my own savings - all gone now...all since September of last year.....just trying to keep my head above water.
And I STILL ended up $2700 in the hole and deadheading home from Denver after being left to sit for a day and a half and finally getting completely fed up. I was also so broke that by the time I deadheaded home on a Tuesday...I had had NOTHING to eat since Saturday morning.

And - just for the record - I have one of the LOWEST payments in the L/P fleet. So if my payment is low and *I'm* in the hole that far....there is food for thought. I also stay out 3-4 months at a time...so it's not like I'm sitting my happy ### at home and being a slacker.

Just some things to think about...
