why do so many truckers wear headphones?

Probably a head set for their cell phone or a blue tooth.

 

Not headphones, they are bluetooth headsets for their cell phones.

They wear them so they can talk to their fleet manager, family or friends while keeping their hands free to drive or to do other work.

 

You must be passing the same truck because most don't. Many wear headsets for their cell phone is maybe what you are seeing.

One needs to hear what's going on around them.

Why would they wear headsets when many newer trucks you can plug Ipods into the stereo system?

It must be a young driver thing?

You know like when you buy a purple car because nobody has one and all of a sudden you see purple cars all around. I bet you wear one, lol.

 

I'll bet a few of those drivers that wear headphones,

never heard the train that took their life !!!!!!!!!

 

Talking to my family. That's why if you guys see me think I'm talking to myself but I'm not. I always tried to call my family I miss them a lot. First time will be my wife talking about stuff privately. Then after we are done I talk to my daughter, son, and see how the family dog is doing.
