Australia and New Zealand are two different countries we have 1500km of water between us.
Australia have always had heaver trucks than us considering the distance they have to travel.
Our laws changed in 1992 allowing us to go from 39t to 44t now its changed again to 50t on selected routes only and some up to 60t.
Length has also changed to 22 metres.
The new 730hp stock units are running 5 axle trucks and 5 axle trailers I will try to find one and post it.
Scania v8 730hp

Aussy trucking is the real legend. They got no railways around country like in the USA ore ex-USSR, so they use 52m lenth road trains.
And what we see? they use trucks from all over the world, and many EU trucks (MAN, DAF, MB, IVECO, SCANIA, Volvo VN and FH/FM). Seems to me EU trucks may be offered in the USA. They make really good cabovers we cant compare with US COE truck.
Yep, I love US conventional design. But really when I look at THIS TRUCK http://www.roadtransport.com/blogs/big-lorry-blog/2009/08/jazdas-shiny-new-trailer-and-p.html I can see too many European things in design, and we must know that Paccar build trucks in EU (DAF), and 387 shares powertrain with DAF 105 with the same HP.
Scania... V8.. yep - big engine, but, HPI, Scania share this system with Cummins!
I used to put US injectors and metering solenoids in Scania engines, and no difference!
well, V8 - I do not think 750 HP truck is for public roads. They offer this truck for heavy hauling, so what a reason to compare Scania V8 with US road trucks? It is like a fat truck.
As an example there are plants in Russia and Belorus making very FAT cabovers, I saw Kurgan ballast trucktor with Cummins KTTA19 ore with QSK. And what? are these engines for road trucks? Taiga oil field trucking....!!! -
Sorry didnt realise you were in NZ! Do you know how those new 730's are performing out there, any hassle with them? Talks here at home of 48 tonnes but on eight axles, not sure if there's gonna be a length increase Tho! -

and small correction hpi was never used in v8 only pde and now xpi
there is already lot of 730 as 4x2 tractor so only 40t or 44
i am convinced that there is already more 730s in one year than man tgx v8 in 4years their engines are more like those from fat trucks this v8 is originally liebherr used in cranes and in such things and it is 300kg heavier than scania v8 (old one i dont know weight for new ) but new is lighter -
but as far i remember scania UK and ireland dont allow trucks to be speced with high tires and 2.92 did you change tires from 315/70 to 315/80
and why you at all use 315/80 today almost no one buys them anymore
can you send me last 7numbers of chassis number on PM this would explain your spec -
