the thing is theres not enough room to get a truck in the wendys parking lot so you have to park across the street at the conley country club which they dont like you doing they only want paying customers who frequent the bar parking there. but hey who really cares your in and out of the wendys before any one knows your there.

I have always been told parking at the southern comfort bar in conley is off limits because of past problems with drivers going there then again this is by drivers but I wouldn't doubt it I know the company is against the use of alcohol by drivers while not on hometime especially the students. I know the bar in the lobby of the hotel used by central in west valley is also off limits and they tell you in fontana the same tif bars by the hotel they use there are also off limit these two I have been informed az management and also the hotel employees. The reality is is that there are irresponsible people here in the world and to make it safe for everyone they probably have had problems in the past and to keep from further problems they enforce these rules I don't blame them.
On a lighter note how is everyone?

Ok fess up who did it? Saw a wrecker pulling a central trailer today that someone clobbered a bridge with, the reefer was gone and the top of the nose of the trailer was all peeled back.

The pay does start the day you are seated on your trainers truck its paid at 64 or close to it it equals out to 450 a week but just know if you get out of class on Wednesday and your trainer doesn't get there till Saturday you will get paid from Saturday till the next Wednesday and central is 1 week behind which means you will get your first check the second Wednesday you are seated on the truck.

    Thanks for the welcome friend!
I am currently a lease operator and I train here at central getting into my third year and enjoying it for the most part getting a lot more hometime so its much easier. How about yourself?

Hey Skully any words of encouragement for a newbie starting August 22. Or any advice, I've been waiting since middle school for this opportunity and almost made the mistake of joining CRST.

Sure man the first thing is is that there are no mistakes just lessons. Second make sure your being eager not overbearing just eager the one thing I want to see in a student is they want to learn they get out and help fuel or they ask to back the truck if I'm driving don't get discouraged grinding gears happens my current student does this a lot and then he gets discouraged and it ruins the rest of his day. Make sure your trainer is letting you do the things you need to learn and is helping you with them like the computer work and the paperwork talking to dispatch or os&d when calls need to be made as you only get a month to learn everything. Keep in mind if your trainer isn't teaching what needs to be taught and denies your requests to learn (keep in mind you are only supposed to be driving the first week) if It's coming to the middle or the end of the second week and that is still all your learning you need to speak to the training department and express your concerns to see if you may possibly need a different trainer. Don't worry about the trainer getting in trouble if he was doing his job it wouldn't happen.
As for being out on your own enjoy the traveling enjoy meeting new people it is for sure an adventure. Same thing here don't get discouraged miles go up and down on a regular basis be punctual and communicate with your dispatcher on a regular basis if your getting short loads constantly make sure you add them up you may find its more miles than it looks before you call and ask if there is a reason because that's the first thing they will do. Make sure your dispatcher communicates with you if not talk with the terminal manager and express your concerns and continue up the ladder if nothing is done. Be cautious at all times never get too comfortable that's when bad things happen........
Last but not least don't let the figures fool you leasing a truck is not all its cracked up to be unless you enjoy staying out months at a time you really don't make that much more unless you train both of these should be avoided until at least 1 year of experience and that's only if you can honestly say these following things (I feel comfortable with my driving abilities, I feel comfortable with my dispatch and the miles I'm getting which solo should be no less than 2800 a week unless breakdown or hometime, and I like my job)
Those are the main things so hope that helps anymore questions just ask.
Glad to have you here rather than with Crash Roll Stunt Team

Thanks Skully ima reread this right before I start training so I can clear my head and be focused. I'm definitely not comfortable leasing a truck when I got some other minor bills to pay first. I'm am also looking forward to bein there at least a year and know there's ups and downs. I have great communication skills and good phone etiquette too. I also ask lots of questions. I've been doing my own studying over the last years also. Once took some cdl practice tests while going to trade school for Hvac and was passing them with scores in the high 70 percentile. However I'm not ####y but confident that ill succeed. Ill definitely stay in touch with you and thank you very much.
